REDCap has gained popularity among researchers as a cost-effective, easy-to-access and easy-to-use tool for data acquisition and data management. UCSF Researchers have used REDCap to collaborate with other institutions, build and manage complex studies, deploy web- and mobile-based survey instruments and more. Learn how this hosted, secure, collaboration tool can support your research projects.

Trinity: virtual tumor board & multidisciplinary care technology Aenor Sawyer, Pierre Theodore Conference Room 1 | 1:45 - 2:30Multidisciplinary care is considered the gold standard for complex and chronic disease management, but is costly and inefficient as currently practiced. The Trinity technology provides a secure online environment where multiple providers view essential data, exchange expertise, and reach critical decisions in a time- and cost-efficient manner. At UCSF this tool is being used to support synchronous meetings (such as existing tumor boards) as well as asynchronous team care collaboration.

Enabling Real-Time Quantitative Imaging for Clinical Applications with cloud, mobile and open-source computing Sarah Nelson, Vivek Swarnakar, Jason Crane Conference Room 1 | 2:30 - 3:15An overview of the infrastructure available to users through the Quantitative Image Processing Center (QUIP-C), the Surbeck Laboratory for Advanced Imaging and other associated imaging resources within the Department of Radiology and Biomedical imaging will be presented. These include support for image acquisition, data management, post-processing, implementation of novel algorithms and utilization of high performance computing in order to provide solutions to a broad range of different problems. Specific examples of mobile, cloud and open-source applications will be presented in order to demonstrate how these resources can be utilized to translate novel imaging technologies into the clinic.
