Laser WeldingWhy laser welding? In recent years, various techniques are introduced in the development of welding process. And it is already proved that laser welding technique is far more superior than normal conventional welding techniques, producing equally strong weld of better quality. Most of the laser welded joints exhibit more strength than the parent material itself. Actually, the laser welding is done by a fusion process.

Laser welding process produces so much heat in a tiny spot, that both the metal components which are to be joined together, reach their melting point instantaneously in the localized small spot dimensions. That is why laser welds are invariably very fine and aesthetically very clean with minimal increase in temperature around the welding point or line, so that the thermal distortions are also negligible in the Laser Welded components. Laser welding technique can be applied for thinner gauges because of very low thermal distortion.

Considering all the above aspects, your obvious and first choice for production should be Laser Welding.

Materials for laser welding are mainly SS, MS & also includes Aluminum (with high power laser). It is treated as the typical material for laser welding. Most of the conventional weldings can be converted to Laser Welding at superior speed and better quality. Laser welding is capable of high consistency and reproducibility than conventional welding. As the laser welding process is by focused optical beam, it can be transported at a required location by means of beam steering or beam guiding system, so it can be used in a difficult to weld locations. For e.g. “Inside a pipe”.
