COOPERS® SCANDAMAX™ ORAL SHEEP DRENCH COMBINATION PACKIn many situations, it is recommended that a combination of drenches be used in order to manage drench-resistant parasites or to prevent the onset of resistance. This pack contains two mixed products as a combined oral drench for sheep: COOPERS SCANDAMAX Oral Sheep Drench. The two products used to mix the combined oral drench are:• COOPERS SCANDA Mineralised with Selenium, Cobalt and Zinc, a broad

spectrum oral anthelmintic solution for sheep and lambs (80g/L LEVAMISOLE HYDROCHLORIDE (equivalent to 69g/L LEVAMISOLE), 45.3g/L OXFENDAZOLE, 2.4g/L SODIUM SELENATE (equivalent to 1.0g/L Se), 2.9g/L COBALT EDTA (equivalent to 0.4g/L Co), 8.6 g/L ZINC EDTA (equivalent to 1.2g/L Zn); and

• COOPERS PARAMAX MULTI-PURPOSE CONCENTRATE FOR SHEEP (16g/L IVERMECTIN).

Indications – COOPERS SCANDAMAX Oral Sheep Drench Combination Pack:COOPERS SCANDAMAX contains levamisole and oxfendazole for control of mature and immature gastro-intestinal nematodes in sheep and lambs, including macrocyclic lactone, levamisole or benzimidazole resistant strains susceptible to this combination product and to supplement diets which may be deficient in selenium, cobalt and zinc.COOPERS SCANDAMAX also contains ivermectin (a member of the macrocyclic lactone family of drenches) for the oral treatment and control of ivermectin sensitive strains of internal nematode (roundworm) parasites (including benzimidazole, levamisole and morantel resistant strains), nasal bot and itchmite in sheep. At the recommended dosage level, this product is effective for the treatment and control of ivermectin sensitive strains of adult and immature parasites of sheep.• Barber’s pole worm (Haemonchus contortus) including inhibited L4 stage, • Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia circumcincta), (including inhibited L4

stage),

• Large stomach worm (Haemonchus placei),• Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei),• Small intestinal worm (Cooperia spp),• Thin-necked intestinal worm (Nematodirus spp), • Black scour worm (Trichostrongylus spp),• Nodule worm (Oesophagostomum columbianum), • Large bowel worm (Oesophagostomum venulosum),• Large mouthed bowel worm (Chabertia ovina),• Large Lungworm (Dictyocaulus filaria),• Tapeworm (Moniezia spp). in sheep and lambs.• Whipworm (Trichuris ovis),• Intestinal Threadworm (Strongyloides papillosus),• Nasal Bot (Oestrus ovis) (parasitic larval stages only),• Itchmite (Psorergates ovis).COOPERS SCANDAMAX is effective against benzimidazole, levamisole and

morantel resistant strains of H. contortus, O. circumcincta and T. colubriformis.COOPERS SCANDAMAX sterilises roundworm eggs, except those from Nematodirus spp.COOPERS SCANDAMAX contains Sodium Selenate and chelated Cobalt and Zinc to supplement diets which may be deficient, in selenium, cobalt and zinc.COOPERS SCANDAMAX is given as a drench by mouth. It has residual activity which gives almost complete protection against larvae ingested within 24 hours of dosing.A veterinarian or livestock adviser should be approached to help plan the most efficient use of this product. It is advisable that an anthelmintic resistance test be conducted before any anthelmintic is used. Internal nematode (roundworm) parasites may develop resistance to drenches (anthelmintics). If drench (anthelmintic) failure with this product is suspected, seek veterinary confirmation and notify the manufacturer. Ask your local veterinary practitioner or animal health adviser for recommended parasite management practices for your area to

reduce development of resistance. It is advisable that a drench resistance test be conducted before any drench is used.DIRECTIONS FOR USERestraintsDO NOT USE in female sheep which are producing or may in the future produce milk or milk products for human consumption.ContraindicationsCOOPERS SCANDAMAX is contraindicated for use in dogs and horses.COOPERS SCANDAMAX should not be used when selenium intake from pasture is high or selenium is provided by other means (such as pasture top dressing, vaccine, pellets or selenium drenches). Users can determine selenium status by consulting their veterinarian.PrecautionsWhen using COOPERS SCANDAMAX, the following precautions should be observed:

• Selenium can have toxic effects, particularly in sheep with liver damage that graze in areas where plants containing pyrrolizidine alkaloids are prevalent.

• Exercise care in handling weak, pregnant and young animals to avoid unnecessary stress.

• Avoid yarding animals off-feed overnight, and ensure animals have access to water when yarded prior to drenching.

• Recommended dose should not be exceeded, except under veterinary supervision.

COOPERS SCANDAMAX should be administered orally using accurate drenching equipment. Clean equipment thoroughly before and after use.Always dose on a liveweight basis, do not underdose. The heaviest sheep in a mob should be weighed. Dose the mob to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group (ewes, rams, lambs), do not underdose. Check the accuracy of drenching equipment before and during drenching procedures.

DOSAGE INSTRUCTIONS: When used at the recommended dose rates specified below COOPERS SCANDAMAX can be used for up to 28 days after COOPERS SCANDA Mineralised and COOPERS PARAMAX MULTI-PURPOSE CONCENTRATE are first mixed together, provided the mixed product is properly stored and remixed again prior to use. When mixed, the COOPERS SCANDAMAX backpack should contain 4L of COOPERS SCANDA Mineralised and 500mL of COOPERS PARAMAX MULTI-PURPOSE CONCENTRATE (to make 4.5L). There is sufficient COOPERS SCANDA Mineralised and COOPERS PARAMAX MULTI-PURPOSE CONCENTRATE in the combination pack to combine and mix a second time. Directions for second use must be followed as indicated.COOPERS SCANDAMAX has a tendency to settle on standing, therefore it is recommended that after mixing COOPERS SCANDA Mineralised and COOPERS PARAMAX MULTI-PURPOSE CONCENTRATE and immediately prior
