1. Question:Why does the system propose a batch when I create a delivery usingtransaction ME2O?

Answer:This is not an error. This system behavior is due to the program design.The system uses the first SC stock batch that is found as the default valuefor a material or a vendor (in the dialog box for creating deliveries).

Answer:See Note 199360.

3. Question:Why is the delivery date calculated based on the oldest open subcontractorder?

Answer:This is not an error. This system behavior is due to the program design.Since a delivery is always possible only at aggregated level via all openpurchase orders in transaction ME2O, the oldest open purchase order that isdisplayed in transaction ME2O is always used for calculating the deliverydate.Note the following: With Enhancement Package 4 and activated OutsourcedManufacturing,you have the option of a purchase order-related delivery; this enables youtoavoid the system behavior described above.

7. Question:Why does the dialog box not propose a storage location when I post a goodsissue?

Answer:When you post the goods issue, you do not post it with reference to aspecific document. As a result, the storage location cannot beprepopulated. To post a goods issue, you must select a header line or areservation.

8. Question:When I create a delivery, why does the system select the first goodsrecipient that is found in the customer master if it contains several goodsrecipients? (no selection option)

Answer:A function is missing.

9. Question:Why does transaction ME2O not display the restricted-use stock?

Answer:Transaction ME2O is designed to display the "Unrestricted use stock" only.However, you can post to the "Restricted-use stock" in transaction ME2O.Transaction ME2O then displays this stock change because it distinguishesbetween "Unrestricted use stock" and "Restricted-use stock" in this case.Afterwards, the inventory management is updated correctly.

10. Question:You use transaction ME2O to post a goods issue or to create a delivery. Whydoes the system not update the purchase order (PO) history?

Answer:Transaction ME2O uses the component quantities from the individual purchaseorder items. However, it does not set up a stock based on purchase orders(POs). The system therefore does not assign POs directly to quantitieseither. The evaluation of the SC stock is therefore always a cumulativeanalysis of all the requirements of a material over time. The "Closing

Stock" for each material displays whether there is excess stock or a stockundercoverage at that time, or whether requirements and stock are balanced.

You can set up the SC stock with larger quantities than componentrequirements exist at that time. This option is often used if, for example,you want to set up buffer stocks for the subcontractor for subcontractingworks that frequently recur.

11. Question:Why does transaction ME2O not display a "Refresh" pushbutton?

Answer:A function is missing.You must call transaction ME2O again. We recommend that you create your ownvariant for the selection.As of Enhancement Package 4 for Release 600, you can use transaction ME2ON,which has been reprogrammed to include "Refresh" in the reportingframework.

12. Question:In ME2O, why is a storage-location-dependent shipping point determinationnot possible?

Answer:Transaction ME2O is not currently programmed tocarry out a storage-location-dependent shipping point determination.You have the option of placing a development request for it.In this case, see Note 11.
