Subject: Noise from front seat back

Foreword: This bulletin informs you of the field fix procedure when you receive customer’s complaint of noise coming from front seat back.

IMPREZA, XV ALL 2012MY and 2013MY
1. Foreword When you receive customer’s complaint for noise coming from front seat back, it could be cause by metal
rubbing between flat mat wire and upper bracket inside of the seat flame in seat back. Flat mat wire is wrapped by a paper sheet originally, however, the paper sheet could be broken by the sharp edge of the bracket.
In order to fix this noise, please install bushes into the holes on the bracket instead of replacing whole seat flame assembly. The photos below show the locations where the noise comes from and the view after the bush installation. [Location where noise comes from in red circles] [The conditions after the bush installation]
2. Field fix procedure 1) Required parts : BUSH FLAT MAT(Part number 64106AJ000) x 2 pieces per seat 2) Bush Installation
(1) Remove the seat cover and cushion from seat back and remove flat mat from the seat flame. Please refer to the appropriate service manual for the removals procedure.

(2) Bush Installation into the 2 holes on the seat flame, where the flat mat wire hangs originally.
*Installation becomes easier when the bush is heated to 40 thru 50 degC by pouring hot water. (3) After the bush installation, please check if it is properly installed.
4) Reinstall flat mat into the seat flame and reassemble the seat back.

Set the bush on the hole as shown in the photo
Push the bush down straight.
Completed.
There is some shaves caused by threaded installation. It is easily come off.
It is OK if the bush won’t come off by pushing backward (about 3kg load)
