®Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario has been granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy

Through our Say Yes to Hope Campaign, we are reaching out to donors in the 16 Counties we serve,so we can continue to fulfill the wishes of children in these regions. We have been experiencing excitinggrowth in the last few years. In our first 20 years ofoperation we granted nearly 500 wishes, and now only eight years later, we have granted over 1,000wishes!

We are currently working with over 110 families at various stages of the wish process across Southwestern Ontario. As our wishes continue to increase, so too does our need for communitysupport.

Sponsoring a child’s wish through our Say Yesto Hope Campaign is a way for caring peoplelike you to make a positive and immediateimpact on the life of a child in Southwestern Ontario

Created to give our community special insight into the joyful experience of a child’s wish come true, through the Say Yes to Hope Campaign, donors may make a contribution of any size towardshelping us grant children’s wishes. Or, with a minimum amount of $8,000, donors may fullysponsor a child’s wish.

HOW YOU CAN HELPThere are many ways individuals, businesses, schools and organizations can help us fulfill children’s wishes:

Make a donation by phone, mail or online Become a monthly donor Hold a fundraising event Donate existing proceeds from a lottery account or fundraiser Conduct an employee payroll deduction program with a corporate match Forms a “giving circle” to combine donations with other area individuals or businesses, so you may sponsor a wish together Honour a loved one with a tribute or memorial gift Consider a planned gift, to help grant the wishes of tomorrow Get creative and come up with an idea of your own!

Your donation will be promptly acknowledged. Many donations qualify for an official charitable tax receipt.

We enter our wish families’ lives at a time when they need to know that their community cares about what they are going through, as their child courageously fights his/her battle. We believe

®that Make-A-Wish , through our magical mission, dedicated volunteers and strong supports, is helping to nurture kinder and more caring communities across Southwestern Ontario.

WHAT IS A WISH?A "wish" is a child's personal, heartfelt answer to the question: "If you could go anywhere, meet anyone, have anything, or be anyone, what would you choose? What would you do?" Wishes are wonderful experiences granted to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Parents of wish children have told us that not only is the wish a magical interlude in a terrible and frightening time, but it is also a factor in increasing a child's sense of empowerment. Children are energized by a wish...by imagining it, describing it, planning and anticipating it. Families tell us that a wish can encourage a child to see a future to fight for, and then to fight on. Often against tremendous odds, a wish gives courage and hope.

We ask you to consider a contribution of any size to Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario’s Say Yes to Hope Campaign. This is an opportunity for area groups and businesses to make a positive impact in the lives of our

amazing wish children in your county.
