DAILY EXCELSIOR, JAMMU TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2015 (PAGE 17) SAY GOODBYE TO FIBROIDS FOR EVER Fibroids have become a common problem among women leading to mul- tiple problems like heavy menstrual bleeding, pain in abdomen, and increased frequency of urination, prob- lems with complete defecation and physical problems in unmarried girls due to a large mass in the abdomen. Fibroids can also lead to infertility, mis- carriages and complications in preg- nancy. Today with the new modern tech- niques any fibroid can be removed by laparoscopy or hysteroscopy in good hands while completely saving the rest of the uterus. But fibroids reappear a few years after their removal. Hence a new technique called LUAL (Laparoscopic Uterine artery Ligation) is now designed by world renowned gynae laparoscopy surgeon Dr Nikita Trehan and her team which not only helps in prevention of recurrence of fibroids but also decreases blood loss during removal of the fibroid. In this technique the uterine arteries are clipped at their origin. This technique offers all the benefits of laparoscopy i.e. minimal blood loss, no need for blood transfusion, minimal pain post operatively, only one day hospital stay and early resumption to day to day activities. LUAL also prevents the recurrence of fibroids in 80% women without compromising their future fertility that is if these women want to get pregnant in the future they will not face any problems. Dr Nikita Trehan, the celebrated doctor of International Modern Hospital, Dubai and Sunrise Hospitals, New Delhi will be available in Jammu from 10 am to 01 pm on Thursday, 15th October 2015 at Lajwanti Medical Trust Jammu to consult patients suffering from various ailments.
