Dear ISYM Saxophone Week Participant, Congratulations on your acceptance into the Saxophone Academy! We have an exciting week of lessons, master classes, ensemble rehearsals, special presentations and performances planned for you. Following is some important information about the program. Audition The Audition is used to place and seat you in a saxophone ensemble, so pick a solo or other material that demonstrates your playing at its absolute best. You will also be asked to play the attached scales and etudes and to sight-read. Auditions will take place on registration day. If you signed up to play alto and also own a soprano, tenor or baritone saxophone, feel free to bring both instruments. Solo Music One saxophonist will be selected based upon the auditions, to play with piano accompaniment in the Final Saxophone Concert on Saturday morning. If you wish to be considered for this opportunity, please bring the piano part for your solo to the camp. We will provide a pianist. If you have any questions about the program or repertoire, please do not hesitate to email, text or call me. I look forward to seeing you June 24th! Sincerely, Debra Richtmeyer Program Coordinator Pre-College Saxophone Academy Professor of Saxophone University of Illinois [email protected] (217) 840-3319 (cell)
