Saving Files to Your PDrive When creating and downloading files, it is important that you save these documents to your P drive. A Pdrive is your own personal folder that can be accessed on any Wagner College based computer through your Novell account. A benefit of saving documents to your Pdrive is that if the computer malfunctions and you already saved important files to your Pdrive, you will always be able to access it on another computer. Note: It is important to not save documents to the desktop when working in the computer labs because once you restart the computer, the document is removed and disregarded.

Saving  Files  to  Your  P-‐Drive

When   creating   and   downloading   files,   it   is   important   that   you   save   these   documents   to   your  P-‐drive.   A   P-‐drive   is   your   own  personal   folder   that   can  be   accessed  on   any  Wagner  College  based  computer  through  your  Novell  account.  A  benefit  of  saving  documents  to  your  P-‐drive  is  that  if  the  computer  malfunctions  and  you  already  saved   important   files   to  your  P-‐drive,  you  will  always  be  able  to  access  it  on  another  computer.

Note:  It  is  important  to  not  save  documents  to  the  desktop  when  working  in  the  computer  labs  because  once  you  restart  the  computer,  the  document  is  removed  and  disregarded.

Accessing  your  P-‐Drive  There  are  two  methods  you  can  use  to  access  the  files  from  your  P-‐drive.

Now  that  you  have  access  to  your  P-‐drive,  you  can  view,  edit,  and  access  files  to  your  liking.

Moving  Files  into  your  P-‐Drive

If  you   forgot   to  save  a  document   to  your  P-‐drive  and  accidentally  saved   it   to  your  desktop   (or   in  another  place,)  you  can  always  move  the  file  into  your  P-‐drive.

In   order   to   start   the   process   of  moving   a   file   to   your   P-‐drive,   you  must   locate   the   file   on   your  computer.  Click  on  the  desired  file  and  drag  it  into  your  Personal  Drive  (P)  located  either  from  the  shortcut  on  your  desktop  or  in  My  Computer.

To  view  the  file,  Click  on  Personal  Drive  (P).  The  file  should  have  been  moved  successfully.
