With heavy hearts, we share news of the passing of Charles Banks. Charles fought a 4 month battle with pancreatic cancer, and is now at peace.

In addition to being Teeco’s Region-al Operations Manager in Auburn, WA, he was our official photogra-pher at most events. He had a gift for capturing beautiful shots of peo-ple, whether in Teeco’s hospitality suite, on the tradeshow floor or on the green.

Charles was also very active in his church, serving as a deacon, and helped mentor many young men. He was the inspiration for and first recipient of the Spirit of Excel-lence Award, presented annually by Grace & Truth Apostolic Ministries to an individual ”In recognition of those who faithfully contribute to creating quality life changing expe-riences for those in need of Christ when life really matters; carrying themselves with class and distinc-tion, their Spirit of Excellence is demonstrated through their commit-ment, dedication and faithfulness to the Vision of GTAM.”

Charles has made an impact on so many people with his warmth and grace that his absence will always be felt.

He leaves behind his mother, children, grandchildren, a great-grand-child and many others who adore him. He’ll be missed every day... by his friends and family, his Teeco family, customers, vendors, and anyone who’s had the opportunity to know him.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope and pray we all experience a cold and profit-able winter. Currently, my wife, Susan is toasty and warm in bed while I am quite chilly at the computer with a small blanket over my shoulders…at 1:30am. It’s that once a night trip to the restroom (I know – too much information) that gets my brain a little too active. When I cannot sleep, I tend to think about baseball. I try to recite line-ups of my favorite teams in my head with the hope I will bore myself back to sleep.Tonight this led to who the San Francisco Giants might sign as a Free Agent. These days sports teams use Analytics to help with the choice of who target. There has been a lot of talk throughout the sports world regarding the use of Analytics to measure athletes in hundreds of catego-ries.

Analytics are used to measure Batting Av-erage, Averages in certain ballparks, and hundreds of other categories. Of course this led me to wonder how Analytics could be used in the propane industry…yes I am still awake. Could a propane salesperson use more data when visiting potential cus-tomers? Back in the day, we used Demo-graphics. Now there is much more infor-mation available. IT Professionals can put together reports with categories showing weather patterns, gallons sales, price cat-egories, propane usage prevalence, profit margin potential, market saturation and much more data.Okay, now I am getting tired. The rest is up you. Good night or good morning…I’m not sure which.

Rochester Gauges has updated their Propane Liquid Level Gauges (Junior, Senior, 1” NPTF and 1 1/4” NPT) to improve ease of instal-lation and removal of the gauge and to reduce the risk of damage during installation and removal.

you come across a cylinder with a damaged face seal, advise the cylinder owner that it must be removed from service.

NFPA 58 2020 Edition section 7.2.2.7: Prior to filling a cylinder, the face seal on CGA 791 and 793 connections shall be visually inspected for defects (e.g., cracking, gouging, tearing, roping, etc.). If a defect on the face seal is found, the cylinder MUST

NOT be filled.

Replace relief valves at a lower cost than buying new ones. 1. Purchase a new A3149MG or recertified A3149MGX Relief

Valve from Teeco, and install it in the RegO MultiPort. 2. Return the repairable relief valve to Teeco for a Recertification

Allowance.

RegO will completely disassemble the relief valve, replace the springs, seat disc, retainer screw and washer and adjusting screw. All metal parts will be wire brushed, bright dipped and cleaned to remove paint, rust and mill scale, and the parts restored to bright metal condition. RegO will reassemble, retest, date stamp the valve and provide a remanufactured assembly meeting all codes under the original construction and carrying the same warranty as a new relief valve.

A new split bronze bearing insert (part # 9902-1710) is now available for 1-½” series reels, which includes reel models across several industries and applications such as LP Gas, Petroleum, Aviation, Industrial and Fire.

The advantage of a split bearing on a reel is that if the bearing ever needs to be replaced, you will no longer have to remove the swivel joint as part of the task. Total replacement time can typically be cut to under 5 minutes, a reduction of 75% or more.

The new two-piece split bearings will be installed on 1-½” series reels as of Q4 of 2019, and are available as replacement parts as well.
