BudgetWorksheet

Usually one of the first things people think about a Walt Disney World vacation is about how expensive the trip is going to be. True . . . a Walt Disney World vacation can easily break the bank, if you’re not careful. But with a little advance planning, you’ll find that there are so many options available, and a lot of ways to make the trip just as affordable as any other vacation destination. We’ve purposefully selected a date for our wedding that provides the lowest resort pricing of the year. The next couple of pages provide an overview of all the things you’ll need to know with a few of our best money-saving and fun-maximizing tips thrown in. Be sure to check www.andreahandbrian.com for the latest information. We’ll be posting updates often, including any Disney vacation specials that come up, discount airfares, etc.

Your Travel PartyHow many people will be making the trip with you? At Walt Disney World, you can feel like a kid no matter what your age . . . but if you’re over the age of 9, you’re an Adult in the eyes of those pesky Disney cashiers:

Getting to Walt Disney WorldHow do you plan to get to the Happiest Place on Earth? Most people will either Drive or Fly.

DrivingThe distance from Memphis to Orlando is roughly 800 miles, and the trip will there’s about 13 hours of driving time, not including rest stops. As of late-March, the fuel cost of a round trip drive from Memphis to Orlando is around $130.00. You may want to consider the cost of an overnight hotel room each way, a few road trip meals and the cost of an oil change or a rental car to account for wear and tear on your vehicle. At current fuel prices, driving can certainly be a very economical way to travel, especially if you have three or more people in your travel party.

Flying

If you’d prefer to fly instead of drive, there’s good news! Orlando is one of the least expensive destinations to fly to and there are many options available for flight times. As of late-March, the airfare for a non-stop round-trip flight during the week of the wedding was $244.70. Be sure to think about the cost of airport parking if you will need it, checked luggage fees, and the obligatory airport Cinnabon.

You’ll also want to consider the cost of getting from the airport to your Disney resort if you’re not renting a car. Disney offers a free shuttle service called Magical Express or you can arrange for a towncar or limo to pick you up at the airport.

Quick Tip: The most expensive days to fly are Fridays and Sundays. Try to schedule your flight on other days of the week.

If you’d like to enjoy some of Disney’s theme park attractions, then you’ll need to buy park tickets. The way Disney’s Magic Your Way park tickets work is that you purchase a “base ticket” for the number of days you would like to visit theme parks. Then you may choose to add-on a number of options, like the ability to “park hop” (visiting more than one park per day) or admission to water parks.

If theme parks “aren’t your thing”, but you’d like to visit the Magic Kingdom and ride a few attractions for just one night, you might want to consider joining us for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Admission is less expensive than a one-day/one-park ticket, the Magic Kingdom will be decked out in its holiday finest, and many of the best attractions will be open with very short wait times. This is definitely one way for you to get the most “bang for your buck”.

Our recommendation is that you purchase park hopper tickets if you’d like to visit multiple parks per day, but we don’t recommend that you include the Water Park Fun & More add-on. It’s December and the weather will be a little chilly for water park excursions. Use the table on the left to decide which tickets are best for you. Tax is included.

There are a ga-zillion gift shops at Walt Disney World, so you’ll want to include a little spending money in your budget for souvenirs and gifts. You’ll be amazed at all the things they can put mouse ears on . . . and how adorably and

irresistibly cute they will seem at the time. It can be a real budget-buster if you’re an impulse spender, but if you can

wait until the last day or two to make all of your purchases, you’ll have a better idea of what’s

out there and what you can truly live without.

Quick Tip: Most gift shops will deliver packages to your resort for you!

K5 DiningWalt Disney World is home to hundreds of fine and casual dining establishments. While you’re at Walt Disney World, we hope that you’ll enjoy some of Disney’s most unique dining experiences.

MenusIf you need help deciding which restaurants you’d like to try or if you need to get an idea of how much money to budget for meals, you can find menus posted online at the following website: http://allears.net/din/dining.htm

Inclusive DiningDisney has several dining plans that you may choose to add if you book a vacation package that includes resort accommodations AND theme park tickets. With Magic Your Way Plus Dining packages, you pay a set amount of money per person per day, and for that amount you get “credits” for dining in the parks and resorts throughout your stay. Please note the dining plans are NOT available with the wedding resort discounts. If you choose to add one of the dining plans, you should book a Magic Your Way Package and be on the lookout for December package discounts in August. There are no guarantees, but historically, we’ve been able to have discounts applied to our existing reservations with no problems at all.
