Our students are a wide range of adult Catholics who want to grow in faith. Some of our students are parish staff members; others serve in a volunteer role. What they have in common is a desire to learn more so as to serve better. What : Courses that integrate meaningful knowledge of theology, practical tools for ministry, and a focus on mission. Where : The main campus of Cardinal Stritch University in Glendale. When : Six Saturdays each semester. The full program is four semesters, but students may register for a single semester or even a single course. Saturday Institute for Lay Ministries Courses include : Overview of the New Testament Overview of the Old Testament Prayer and Spirituality Church History Liturgy and Sacraments Theology of Church Morality Pastoral Ministry Formation: Using Your Gifts Formation: Ministerial Leadership Why : The Church needs faithful, well-formed lay people to share in leadership and to carry out its mission. It is imperative that we provide structured educational/ formational programs in lay ministries and parish administration for service in the church.” Archbishop Listecki, Synodal Declaration, September 2014
