Confirmed Rule Notifications 10/11/12 - Breeds of sheep – members will not be advised of the breed of sheep until the actual day of the competition. There is no allocation of breed at Northern Area level. 24 – Pallet Upcycling - *new* competition, please read rules carefully. 41/42/43 - Non-alcoholic drinks will be provided at the Yorkshire Rally to enable under 18's to enter but only over 18's can qualify for Northern Area. 44 - Members under the age of 16 cannot be substituted on the day due to the Child Licence regulations (BOPA Licence) needing to be submitted to local authorities a minimum of 28 days before the competition. 45 – Mystery Judging – highest points from all the scores in mystery judging from County will be entered into the Northern Area competition. 49 - Members with food allergies are advised NOT to enter this competition. 53 – What 3 words treasure hunt – members to provide own smart phone and download app at a cost to themselves. 70 - Competition has changed from Handbook Cover to Annual Report Cover. 70/71/76/80 – exhibits will become artistic property of YFYFC and will be used for YFC marketing and development purposes. General Rules Under 18s will need a parental consent form. 18s and over will need a second form of ID.

1 AGE Junior Competitors to be aged 16 or under on 1 September 2019 born on or after 1 September 2002 Intermediate Competitors to be aged 21 or under on 1 September 2019 born on or after 1 September 1997 Senior Competitors to be aged 26 or under on 1 September 2019 born on or after 1 September 1992 OPEN/SENIOR COMPETITIONS

Both these competitions can be entered by anyone, unless a restriction is stated, however it is only the competitions classed as “senior” that will go towards the Senior Trophy.

2 ENTRIES

Unless otherwise stated competition entry is free. All deposits required are stated under the competition name, on certain competitions fines will be applicable if a competitor does not turn up. This will be stated along with the amount on the competition rule and entry form. Members are allowed to move up age categories unless otherwise stated. Members may enter more than one competition outside of Section 1, subject to the rules and where the timetable allows. The steward in charge of the competition MUST be notified if a competitor is running late.

NO NEW ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON RALLY DAY. 3 SECTION ONE ENTRIES (Classes 1 to 14) Club Secretaries to send entries direct to DISTRICT SECRETARIES Representation: District entries to County 1-5 Competing Clubs three go forward 6 and over Competing Clubs four go forward (Cledales and Craven only) STOCKJUDGING COMPETITIONS

A competitor may enter only one Stock judging Competition in this section. Substitution in the stock judging classes can only be made by informing County Office no later than Friday 15th May 2020.

COOKERY/FLORAL ART

Competitors may enter only one of these competitions as the timetable does not allow for entry in both.

4 SECTION TWO ENTRIES (Classes 25-54)

Club Secretaries to send entries direct to County Office. Two entries per club. All work must be done at the Rally Site unless otherwise stated. If Districts are holding Section Two at their District Rally please make members aware that they DO NOT QUALIFY to County Rally from the District Rally but NEED TO ENTER, BEFORE THE DISTRICT RALLIES, DIRECTLY TO COUNTY.

5 SECTION THREE ENTRIES (Classes 55-80)

Club Secretaries to send entries direct to County Office. Each club may enter each class twice only and each competitor may enter only once in each class. All work must be made specifically for the 2020 County Rally. Exhibits MUST NOT be removed before 4.00pm on the day of the Rally. If Districts are holding Section Three at their District Rally please make members aware that they DO NOT QUALIFY to County Rally from the District Rally but NEED TO ENTER, BEFORE THE DISTRICT RALLIES, DIRECTLY TO COUNTY. CHANGES CANNOT BE MADE TO ENTRY FORMS AFTER DISTRICT RALLIES – NAMES CAN BE SUBSITUTED BUT ADDITIONAL ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

6 NORTHERN AREA ELIMINATORS The first three placed competitors in the Northern Area Eliminators will be required to go forward to represent the County at the 2020 Northern Area Field Day to be held on Saturday 27th June 2020 at Huggin Farm, Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster hosted by East Riding YFC.

The following competitions will go through to the Field Day: Beef, Sheep & Mystery Judging, Tractor Handling, Pallet Upcycling, Tug of War, Farm Safety, Fence Erecting, Floral Art, Hand & Machine Sheep Shearing, Bolster & Bar, Half & Yard of Ale, Boat Race, Fashion Kimono, Northern Area’s Got Talent, Team Eating Competition, Woodwork, Metal Work, Five Uses of Recycled Plastic, Photography, Cupcakes, Decorated Cake, Doughnuts, Yorkshire Pudding 4 ways, Sport in a seed tray, Liqueur, On the News and Cube Exhibit.

7 MALVERN AUTUMN SHOW (26th & 27th SEPTEMBER 2020)

Competitors may not enter more than one competition held at the Malvern Show: Team Cookery, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Floral Arts.

8 NFYFC COMPETITIONS WEEKEND (4th JULY & 5th JULY 2020)

Fence Erecting, Farm Safety and Cube Display. MENS, LADIES & JUNIOR TUG OF WAR FINALS (1st August 2020 at the Tenbury Show)

9 PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE RULES WERE CORRECT WHEN SENT TO PRESS (March 2020)

HOWEVER SHOULD RULES CHANGE PRIOR TO THE COUNTY RALLY, CLUBS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA MEMBERS NEWS. UP-DATED RULES WILL BE POSTED ON THE YORKSHIRE YFC WEBSITE AND VIA FACEBOOK. PLEASE NOTE ALL NA ELIMINATORS HAVE BEEN SET BY EITHER NFYFC OR EAST RIDING FEDERATION OF YFC.

10 MEMBERSHIP CARDS - ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE MEMBERS OF YFYFC BEFORE THE

ENTRY CLOSING DATES, NO CARDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THE 11TH MAY 2020. NO REPLACEMENT CARDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THE 15TH MAY 2020. MEMBERS MUST BRING A VALID MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH PHOTOGRAPH TO THE COUNTY RALLY. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT SHOW THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARD WILL BE FINED £20 AND ISSUED WITH A WRISTBAND FOR THE DAY.

ALL MEMBERS AGED 18+ MUST SUPPLY A 2ND FORM OF ID (Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate). ALL MEMBERS UNDER 18, MUST HAVE A SIGNED PARENTAL CONSENT FORM TO BE ABLE TO COMPETE AS STATED BY NFYFC Cards must be signed on the reverse. Expiry date 31/08/2020. If a membership card is checked and found to be invalid then the competitor will be disqualified from competing on the day.

11 JUDGING - THE JUDGES AND STEWARDS DECISION IS FINAL.

The Presidents Choice Award will be awarded to the exhibit that the President of YFYFC deems a worthy winner – the President’s decision is final.

12 VERBAL ABUSE

Aggressive behaviour in any form from a competitor or a member of the public on behalf of a competitor to the Judge or Steward will result in that competitor being disqualified.

13 POINTS Points will be awarded on the basis of: 1st 6 points 2nd 5 points 3rd 4 points 4th 3 points 5th 2 points 6th 1 point

In sections two and three 1 point will be given for every member who enters a competition and competes on the day or brings their exhibit – the exceptions to this are class 69 Club Display and 78 Cookery Display. Points for Club Display and Cookery Display are as follows: 6 marks will be awarded for the overall display and 6 marks for the best interpretation of each theme, 5 for the second etc, allowing a maximum of 36 points to be awarded. WHERE A CLUB HAS TWO OR MORE ENTRIES IN ONE COMPETITION, ONLY THE HIGHEST SCORING ENTRY WILL COUNT TOWARDS TROPHIES.

Where specific report times are given, this is to allow time for a draw to be made before the competitor starts. Where there is no report time listed competitors should still give themselves plenty of time to check-in before the competition is due to start. Some venues may change depending on the weather! STOCKJUDGING COMPETITIONS

Kindly sponsored by Lambert & Dyson Ltd PROCEDURES Classes 1-2, 4-12, 13-15, 16-18, 28-30 a) Competitors will be required to judge and give reasons on 1 ring of 4 animals/birds then judge and

place 1 ring of 4 animals/birds. (Class 2 = 6 animals) b) The animals/birds will be designated A, B, X, Y. (Class 2 = A, B, C, X, Y, Z) c) During the period of the competition, competitors must not communicate directly or indirectly with any

person other than Judges and Stewards under penalty of disqualification. Members of the public will not be allowed in the judging area.

d) Cards will be supplied to each competitor on which must be marked the order the competitor places the animals. Only the tear-off section of the card may be used for making notes. During the competition, no other papers or literature may be used.

e) Competitors must provide themselves with white coats, which must be worn during the period of the competition.

f) Timing: 10 minutes will be allowed for inspection and handling and a further 5 minutes to prepare reasons, 2 minutes to give reasons. Competitors who exceed the time limit will incur penalties at a rate of 2 marks for each 15 seconds or part thereof. Marking: Placing 50, Reasons: Accuracy of Observation 25, Comparison 15, Style (including presentation of competitor) 100. Intermediate dairy that get 15 minutes will be allowed for inspection and handling and a further 5 minutes to prepare reasons with 3 minutes to give reasons. Marking: Placing 48, Reasons: Accuracy of Observation 32, Comparison and Style 20, (including presentation of competitor) 100. Junior and Intermediate dairy will get an extra class to judge, this will be 10 minutes to look at 4 animals for a score off 50 totalling 150 points for the 2 classes.

Classes 1 and 2 reasoning must be positive. Class 3 a) Competitors will be required to assess 4 Shorthorn Dairy Cows using the linear method of assessing

characteristics. Competitors are also required to place these cattle in order of merit as to their suitability for milk production and breeding herd replacements.

Competitors to give POSITIVE reasons to the Judges to justify their placing. b) The cattle will be designated A, B, X, Y. c) During the period of the competition, competitors must not communicate directly or indirectly with any

other person other than Judges and Stewards under penalty of disqualification. d) Cards will be supplied to each competitor for making notes. During the competition no other papers or

literature may be used. e) Competitors must provide themselves with white coats which must be worn during the period of the

competition. f) Timing: Inspection and Handling - 30 minutes, Reasons 2 minutes. Competitors who exceed the time

limit for Reasons will incur penalties at a rate of 2 marks for each 15 seconds or part thereof. g) Marking: Correct assessment 100 (1 point will be deducted for each point of variation from the Master

Judge's Score), Placing 50, Accuracy of Observations 25, Positive Comparison 15, Style (including presentation of competitor) 10, Total per competitor 200.

Competitors own backboard and base boards are allowed, and must be provided by the competitor if required and must adhere to the size limitations. The reverse of these backboards MUST compliment the theme and be neat and tidy. At the national finals the exhibit will be displayed on a table with a white table covering.

17 Intermediate Floral Art (21 And Under) The competitor must be 21 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

Subject: Exhibit Title – “My Sporting Hero”. – An exhibit paying tribute to the member’s Sporting Hero. The maximum display area for each competitor MUST NOT exceed 76cm wide x 60cm deep x optional height (i.e. no limitations to height). Exhibits to be composed of natural plant material, with or without accessories. Exhibit is to be viewed from the front. Competitors own backboard and base boards are allowed, and must be provided by the competitor if required and must adhere to the size limitations. The reverse of these backboards MUST compliment the theme and be neat and tidy. At the national finals the exhibit will be displayed on a table with a white table covering.

18 Senior Floral Art (26 And Under)

The competitors must be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Subject: Exhibit Title: “Sporting Pursuits” - An exhibit to depict any sporting activity taking part in the rural community at any time of year. The maximum display area for each competitor MUST NOT exceed 76cm wide x 60cm deep x optional height (i.e. no limitations to height). Exhibits to be composed of natural plant material, with or without accessories. Exhibit is to be viewed from the front. Competitors own backboard and base boards are allowed, and must be provided by the competitor if required and must adhere to the size limitations. The reverse of these backboards MUST compliment the theme and be neat and tidy. At the national finals the exhibit will be displayed on a table with a white table covering.

Each competitor will be required to create their exhibit within a one hour time limit. A work table will be provided close to the display area – approx half a trestle table to be allocated per competitor. Allowance of one hour to include final checks and measurement of the exhibit. Before leaving the competing area, competitors will be given a further 5 minutes to clear and tidy the work site.

Competitors to note that all buckets will be checked by Stewards on arrival for pre-arranged foliage A “Competitions Manual” is available from NAFAS Enterprises Ltd. www.nafas.org.uk Competitors must wear white coats during the period of the competition. ARTIFICAL PLANT MATERIAL • Artificial plant material is realistic or fantasy plant-forms, made wholly or partly from non-

plant material. This includes, clay, fabric, glass, metal, paper, plastic, plaster, polyester, ribbon, shells, silk, sugar, wax, etc. Which is used as a substitute for natural plant material in an exhibit.

• Artificial plant material is not allowed unless specifically included in a show schedule (see reasons for disqualification).

• Artificial plant material or artificial plant forms that are an integral part of a container, base, background or accessory are permitted.

• Artificial grass turf must not be used for any purpose including bases. An ACCESSORY • Anything other than natural plant material in an exhibit, such as, feathers, shapes (spheres,

cones) , shells, stones, wax candles • Natural plant material which has been tooled or crafted to resemble non-plant forms, e.g.

birds nest, corn dolly, wooden figurine. • Accessories may be decorated in any way but greater credit should be given for the use of

natural plant material where appropriate. • The following are not accessories and may also be used unless prohibited by the show

schedule: backgrounds, bases, containers holding plant material, drapes, exhibit titles and mechanics. These may be decorated in any way but greater credit should be given for use of natural plant material where appropriate.

REASONS FOR DISQUALIFICATION • Failure to comply with any specific requirements of a class as stated in a show schedule, i.e.

the measurements or the components. (Just remember – it is better to aim to be 1xm or 1 inch smaller than the size allowed as the size sated is the MAXIMUM size).

• Inclusion of artificial plant material (unless specifically allowed by a show schedule) • Inclusion of fresh plant material that does not have roots or the cut ends of stems in water

or water-retaining material. Exceptions: Air Plants, Cacti, Fruits, Grass Turf, Lichen, Moss, Succulents, Vegetables and long lasting plant material which will remain turgid for the duration of a show. (Definition of turgid – the state of firmness of plant tissue resulting from adequate moisture, causing the plant cells to be fully expanded).

NOT ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE DISQUALIFICATION: the term used when an exhibit does not comply with the requirements of the schedule – see NAFAS reasons for disqualification above. The judge will write ‘Not according to schedule’ and the reason. Competitors must wear white coats during the period of the competition.

19 Team Cookery (Theme: Taste of Game)

See NATIONAL RULES on www.yfyfc.org.uk Teams to consist of three members, one must be 26 years of age or under, one must be 21 years of age or under and one must be 16 years of age or under, on 1 September 2019, and full members of a Club affiliated to NFYFC.

Each team will be required to prepare and display four courses for the ‘Taste of Game’ dinner Teams must promote British Game within their displays. Teams must include at least one food item of British Game in their menu as listed here: https://tasteofgame.org.uk/what-is-game/ (hard copy attached underneath rules) The menu must include at least one sweet course and one savoury course. Each Course will be required to serve two people. A drink does not count as a course and will not be scored. Teams must ensure each course involves a cooked element, prepared from raw ingredients, demonstrating cookery skills. (It is advised that the combination of smoked salmon and cream cheese is not included). Further information about Taste of Game can be found at https://tasteofgame.org.uk/

Equipment Competing teams are required to provide: All ingredients (these may be brought to the competition already weighed out and vegetables ready washed – all other work must be executed on site in the practical session). Two (2) butane gas stoves (currently available from approx. £15.00 from camping and outdoor retailers/Argos/Amazon). The stoves must be like the images below and be fuelled by butane cartridges:

DISPLAYS At the NFYFC final, competitors will be allowed a maximum display space of 90cm (width) X 60cm (depth) X height optional (i.e. no height limit) which to display the courses to their best advantage. Please note these are the EXTERNAL dimensions. If teams use back and/or side boards the whole of the board must be within the dimensions given. Any accessories or drapes used on the outside walls will be included in the overall size limit of the exhibit. The external walls will be marked and should enhance the overall exhibit. Displays which exceed the above dimensions will be disqualified.

Teams must:

a) Display a menu card. b) Display details of recipes.

There are no limitations on the contents of the display. Menu cards, recipes and display accessories (non food items) etc may be brought to the competition ready prepared. Displays must remain in position throughout the day of the competition. All displays and competitor’s property will be at the risk of the competitor and YFYFC cannot accept liability for any loss or damage sustained – therefore, competitors are advised to use items of little established value.

TIMING One hour to include preparation and tidying of the site. Competitors will be penalised at the rate of one mark per minute or part thereof over allotted time.

Teams will be allocated their work space and display space. Display bays may be set up before the one-hour preparation and cooking time and teams may unpack their equipment and ingredients onto the work table before the one hour practical session. At the end of the one hour preparation and cooking time, teams should have tidied the site leaving a clear (wiped) work table with only the gas stoves on it – i.e. they should have packed away their equipment and wiped down the worktable. The gas stoves should be left on the worktable to cool before being packed away. Competitors must wear white coats, hairnets or hats.

Judges will place emphasis on marking displays which compliment the dishes.

Theme ‘The Great Outdoors’ Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Team of two members. Competitors will be required to produce their current and signed membership card. PROCEDURE Each team will be supplied with two wooden pallets. Teams to dismantle pallets and produce an item complementing the theme ‘The Great Outdoors’ within the specified time. Teams must endeavour to use as much of the wood as possible. Amount of wood used will be taken into consideration by the judge when marking. Teams to supply their own tools. To note: rechargeable power tools will be allowed (including glue guns and drills. To note no extra attachments on the drill are to be used). Chainsaws, nail-guns and generators will not be allowed. Competitors are required to provide their own fixings to construct their exhibits. Correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn (including suitable head, ear, eye protection and steel toe capped boots) throughout the competition. Once teams have constructed their exhibit, they will be responsible for clearing up their construction site. An additional 10kg will be added to the weight allowance for each female in the team up to a maximum of 600kg Based on the GENSB International TOW rules. Team names need to be declared beforehand. All team members must bring their NFYFC membership card and parental consent form on the competition day. Only one coach/trainer or water carrier is permitted with each team during pulling. 32 Fence Erecting (NA/NFYFC)

A team shall consist of three members 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. At the NFYFC Final the team will be required to erect a 13m stock proof boundary fence in a straight line using the materials provided (as illustrated in the diagram). It shall be constructed of post and netting with 2 strands of mild steel barbed wire above the netting, and one strand of mild steel wire below the netting. At the start of the fence there will be a box strainer assembly using a horizontal strut and diagonal brace wire. At the other end; the fence will be secured with a mild steel fencing-strainer assembly, using a strainer and angled strut (strut to be secured using a thrust plate, and strainer to be secured using a cross member). The plain wire and barbed wire to be tensioned and tied with a knot at both ends. There must also be a join in the plain wire using a hand tied knot where indicated on the diagram. The team are required to prepare a written risk assessment/method statement, which is to be handed to the Chief Steward on the day of the competition - prior to the competition start. 36 Open Machine Shearing (NA & NFYFC)

Competitors must be 26 years old or under on 1st September 2019. Refer to the latest British Isles Shearing Competition Association (BISCA) May 2019 rules which are available from NFYFC. Competitors must wear suitable clothing and footwear. Competitors must be competent and a minimum of British Wool ‘Blue Seal’, certificate to be presented prior to the competition commencing. There will be a minimum number of sheep to be shorn – see NFYFC rules for details. Competitors will be required to assist in sorting sheep and wrapping wool for other competitors. 37 Ladies Bolster & Bar (NA)

41 Ladies Half Yard of Ale (NA)

Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Competitors must be 10 years old or over on Competition Day. Competitors are required to drink a half yard of alcoholic ale in the quickest time. (Non Alcoholic @ YFYFC). Spillages will be taken into account. Competitors aged 18 years and over can only qualify to go to Northern Area. SCALE OF MARKS - Competitors will be timed and marked on speed and spillages.

42 Men’s Yard of Ale (NA)

Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Competitors must be 10 years old or over on Competition Day. Competitors are required to drink a yard of alcoholic ale in the quickest time. (Non Alcoholic @ YFYFC). Spillages will be taken into account. Competitors aged 18 years and over can only qualify to go to Northern Area. SCALE OF MARKS - Competitors will be timed and marked on speed and spillages.

43 Boat Race non-alcoholic (NA)

Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Competitors must be 10 years old or over on Competition Day. Team of 6 and must include at least 1 member of each sex. Each Competitor will be required to drink a mystery pint of non-alcoholic drinks (6 pints per team) Spillages will be taken into account. SCALE OF MARKS Competitors will be judged on the time taken to drink the 6 mystery pints. Spillages will be considered and will incur a penalty.

44 Northern Area’s Got Talent (Open) (NA) See Northern Area rules for further details (available on YFYFC website). The team will consist of between two and six competitors, all of whom must be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. PROCEDURE Teams are required to demonstrate a talent or skill.

All demonstrations are to be performed inside on a hard floor max size of a curtain sided lorry trailer. Tables will be available for table top demonstrations. Demonstrations must not include competitors being more than hip height above the ground. Teams must bring with them all equipment necessary. All the electricity, microphones and audio equipment will be provided. Music may be used and may be brought with the team on the day of the competition in the form of a CD or a memory stick. All music used must be a Radio Edit – i.e. suitable and passed for radio broadcast to family (pre watershed) audiences. CD’s Should be clearly labelled with the Club Name and Contact Name and Number.

Pets and Livestock are not permitted. All acts must be aimed at and suitable for a family audience. TIMING

The team will have a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 7 minutes. This time limit includes setting up and tidying up. Time faults will be imposed for timings above or below the time limits at a rate of 2 marks deducted per 15 seconds or part thereof. Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. PROCEDURE Competitors will be required to judge and give reasons on a ring of 4 mystery items. Items will be

designated A, B, X, Y. All competitors must provide and wear a white coat, which must be worn during the period of the

competition. Throughout the competition, competitors must not communicate directly or indirectly with any

person other than Judges and Stewards or this will incur a penalty or disqualification. Members of the public will not be allowed in the judging area.

Cards will be supplied to each competitor on which must be marked the order the competitor places the items. Only the tear-off section of the card may be used for making notes. During the competition, no other papers or literature may be used.

TIMING Competitors will be allowed 15 minutes for inspection and handling of the items and each

competitor will be allowed up to 2 minutes for stating their reasons. Competitors exceeding this time limit will incur penalties at the rate of 2 marks for each 15 seconds

49 Team Eating Competition (NA) Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

A team of 3 consisting of one competitor 16 years of age or under on the 1st September 2019, one competitor 21 years of age or under on the 1st September 2019 and one competitor 26 years of age or under on the 1st September 2019. PROCEDURE Competitors will be provided with a plate of food of which they are to eat in the quickest time. Team of three – 1 junior, 1 intermediate, 1 senior. Competitors with any food allergies are advised NOT to compete in this competition. TIMING - The judge will specify the time allowed on the day. SCALE OF MARKS - The team to complete the challenge in the fastest time wins.

50 JUNIOR FACE PAINTING Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

Team of two - One junior competitor (male or female) is required to supply their own model to face paint. The model can be another member of YFYFC, a parent, a club leader or any other person that they identify before the competition day. Competitors to supply their own face paints, accessories ie sequins, jewels etc, facial cleaning products etc. THEME – Animals. TIMING - Competitors will be allowed 15 minutes. SCALE OF MARKS – 100.

51 SENIOR MALE HAMMER & NAILS Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

Senior male member to hammer nail into a piece of wood in the lowest amount of hits without bending the nail. Competitors will be permitted an initial pilot hit. Competitors to provide their own hammer. Competitors to store hammer safely (in locked vehicle) when not in use. YFYFC will provide wood and nails. TIMING - Competitors will be timed and marked on speed and accuracy (number of bent nails). SCALE OF MARKS – 100.

52 SENIOR FEMALE HAMMER & NAILS Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

PROCEDURE - Competitors to make Japanese Kimono that would be suitable to be worn for the Olympics Opening Ceremony. It will then be worn by the competitor in a fashion show.

74 Senior Doorstop Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

To create a doorstop demonstrating a variety of sewing techniques. To be displayed in a maximum area of 30cm X 30cm X 30cm. Only textiles/fabric materials/buttons/sequins should be used. The use of glue is not permitted. Exhibit must be able to hold a door open. 75 Open Sculpture made from Recycled Farm Waste (GYS) Competitors must be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. The competitor is to construct a sculpture of their choosing using ONLY recycled farm waste.

The farm waste MUST be clean. Empty chemical and medicine containers are not to be used. Maximum size of display area to be 30cm x 30cm x 30cm. The name and club of the competitor MUST be attached to the rear of the exhibit.

76 Open Bottle Top Artwork (GYS) Competitors must be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019.

The competitor will be required to produce an artwork made out of bottle tops. Any bottle tops may be used but they MUST be clean. The artwork can be mounted in a wooden frame. Maximum size of the display area to be 30cm x 30cm x 30cm. The name and club of the competitor MUST be attached to the underneath of the exhibit.

77 Open Two Minute Video promoting your Club (GYS) Competitors must be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Competitors are to produce a video to promote their club. Anyone appearing in the video must be a member.

Videos are to be saved onto a USB stick that can be plugged into a laptop and watched by the judge. The video is to be a maximum of two minutes long and will be judged on the video’s ability to attract new members. The name of the competing club MUST be displayed on the USB stick.

GYS - Please note Competitions 75-77 will be removed from County Rally by a member of the

GYS committee and will be taken to the Great Yorkshire Show where they will be displayed and judged. They will be available for collection from 3pm on the Thursday of the show or at the next Executive meeting. The two minute video will become the artistic property of YFYFC and used to promote the Federation on social media and any event deemed appropriate.

78 Cookery Display – “Great Yorkshire Produce” Competitors must be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. A display to champion Yorkshire produce and the County of Yorkshire.

Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2019. Competitors will be required to produce an exhibit to the theme “Olympics”. 5 craft items are to be judged: Craft 1 - Floral Art (Any item using cut flowers and accessories in a suitable container) Craft 2 – Cookery/Baking (This will be tasted so must be covered with cling film). Craft 3 – Textile Handicraft (Patchwork Quilt) Craft 4 – Recycled Handicraft (A piece of sports equipment made from recycled plastic material) Craft 5 – Art Handicraft (Collage of photography) The five (5) crafts need to be clearly marked 1-5 together with the heading that the craft comes under.
