(Gwen) Raverat (British, 1885 - 1957) 'Ricking', an interesting early-20th century ebonised framed and glazed Woodblock Print of haymaking, the title to the lower left in pencil in the margin and signature lower right (13.5cm x 8.25cm) Gwen Raverat was a granddaughter of Charles Darwin, and a leading figure in the revival of wood engraving in the first half of the 20th century. She has an extensive following with work in galleries, museums and private collections worldwide and a number of publications have been written about her life and work.
