Using set tasks to structure activities IIS found the SAP Social Media Partner Programme offered them a wide range of practical advice and ideas about how to extend further into these new territories, with set tasks helping them structure their strategy and activities. For example, following a recent webinar, they were able to create a LinkedIn account and set up a new business group. “We wouldn’t have done as much activity if it hadn’t been for the SAP Social Media Partner Programme. It helps us get to grips with social media, shaping strategy, setting tasks, the visibility of new social media sites and getting peoples’ buy-in.” Michelle Hunt, Marketing and Sales Coordinator

Intelligent Information Systems (IIS) is a leading SAP certified Gold Partner specialising in supplying, implementing and supporting SAP Business One software to SME customers across both the UK and Ireland.

IIS combines a high level of service with comprehensive software packages designed to meet the varied needs of today’s SME market.

A new website, a new social media strategyIIS has been involved with the SAP Social Media Partner Programme since the beginning of the programme’s series of webinars in July 2010. This tied in with a major revamp of the IIS website, due September 2010, which also coincided with their desire to embrace social media as a way of creating new ways to engage with customers.

While IIS currently has no fixed social media policy in place, it is the Marketing Department’s sole responsibility to drive social media activity, with a longer-term view of involving the Sales Team, too. While it’s still early days, the company success to date means they hope to implement a fixed social media policy as soon as possible.

Clear leads builds confidence in Social Media TechniquesThere was definite apprehension that this activity would yield results, however it has quickly demonstrated the value it can add to the business.

While social media is still a new territory, IIS already has a pervasive approach and clear targets:

• Marketing staff dedicate time to posting on all platforms every day, to maintain what is fast becoming a two-way relationship with customers and prospects.

• Social media platforms are interlinked to ensure consistency between them.

• IIS currently aims to increase YouTube activity and seeds this via Twitter and Social media blogs.

Although they are yet to use specific social media monitoring tools, IIS is able to measure their results so far in the form of Google Analytics and Adwords. They expect all channels to add increasing value in the future, particularly their YouTube channel, as they look to create their own demonstration videos of the SAP Business One solutions they offer.
