Migration to SAP EWM as a customized solution

For the Turkish manufacturer of confectionery and baked goods Sölen, SSI Schaefer realized an automated distribution warehouse at the Silivri site in Istanbul province. To reduce interfaces and costs, Sölen made the decision to implement the Extended Warehouse Management System SAP EWM as a central integration platform for the new intra-logistics systems. SSI Schaefer implemented this system for Sölen including installation and customization as well as the integration of the SAP warehouse software into the higher level ERP system by SAP.

Comprehensive services, consulting and development services for SAP ERP and SAP SCM are among the core competencies of SSI Schaefer, a full service provider. In addition to the complete integration of automated ware-house areas in SAP the SSI Schaefer consultants are focussing particularly on optimising manual processes and their seamless integration into SAP ERP.

The same applies at Sölen. Special feature of the project: In terms of functio-nality, the SAP warehouse software needed to take into account more than just the current processes and the Islamic rules for Halal-certifi ed food producers. The SAP EWM customisation work by SSI Schaefer is also designed for a high level of fl exibility to accommodate continued growth and enabling to future business processes.

Result: Automated planning, control, monitoring, and handling of all ongoing acquisition and dispatch processes in the company-wide network with a high level of performance as well as the real-time exchange of data and information.
