2 Introduction

This guide provides instructions on how to upgrade to Planning and Consolidation 7.5.

The term upgrade refers to the process of overwriting your existing software with a newer version of

the software. You can perform an upgrade if you already have version 7.0 (including any support

packages) installed.

For a list of the prerequisite software needed for this version of Planning and Consolidation, see the

installation guide for Planning and Consolidation 7.5 available at http://service.sap.com/

instguidesEPM-BPC.

The upgrade guide provides information on upgrading your software from Planning and Consolidation

7.0 (see Upgrade to Planning and Consolidation 7.5 [page 9].

3 Upgrade to Planning and Consolidation 7.5

Follow these procedures to upgrade your Planning and Consolidation software from version 7.0

(including any support packages) to 7.5.

For information about the server and client installations, see the installation guide for this release at

http://service.sap.com/instguidesEPM-BPC 7.5, version for SAP NetWeaver .

Procedure

When upgrading to Planning and Consolidation 7.5 from 7.0, perform the following tasks:

1. Uninstall the 7.0 version of the .NET server and client components:

■ If you are upgrading from 7.0 SP00, you need to use the SP00 Patch 2 installer to uninstall

the .NET components. To download the SP00 Patch 2 installer, go to the service marketplace

(http://service.sap.com/swdc). For more information, see the Installation Guide.

■ For all other versions, you can uninstall the .NET components using Add/Remove Programs

in the Windows Control Panel.

The system retains your application sets.

2. Install Planning and Consolidation 7.5, version for SAP NetWeaver. For instructions, see the

Installation Guide.

NOTE

This note only applies if you are upgrading from Planning and Consolidation 7.0 SP00 or SP01.

For 7.0 SP00 and SP01, Planning and Consolidation used the same port as the default Web Site.

For later versions, including 7.5, this is no longer possible. Therefore, if you upgrade from 7.0

SP00 or SP01, you must change either the port for Planning and Consolidation or the port

for the default Web Site. This is explained in the Installation Guide but you should be aware that

you may need to plan for additional configuration adaptations.

3. If you intend to migrate users from Active Directory to Central Management System (CMS), see

Migrating Users to Central Management System in the Operations Guide for important information about the

installation.

4. Uninstall the 7.0 version of the Office and Administration clients using Add/Remove Programs in

Windows Control Panel.

5. Install the Office and Administration clients, where required. For instructions, see the Installation

Guide.
