Lunch Choices… Back by Popular Demand Based on the initial feedback received from parents at the District hosted LCAP meetings, the Nutrition Services Department will be offering two lunch choices per day at all elementary schools. This change will begin on Monday, April 14, 2014. In addition, we will be offering new lunch items including Pasta with Meatballs, Egg Roll with Rice, Mini Tacos, and Chicken Drumstick with Sweet Potato Puffs. To increase variety, we will also be offering brunch for lunch entrees such as French Toast Sticks with Sausage. Student favorites such as Pizza, Macaroni and Cheese and Chicken Tenders with Green Beans will also be on the menus. We look forward to serving your children! Administrative Professional Day National Secretaries’ Day is Wednesday, April 24th. This is a nice time to send a little note to our office staff, Mrs. Rodriguez, Mrs. Sanchez, Mrs. Spoelstra, & Mrs. Martinez. They support students, parents, and teachers each and everyday. A Successful Garden Day at Santiago! The hard work of our scholars and volunteers made our Garden Day a great success. Thanks to everyone who participated in our Teaching Gardens program! Santiago School Teacher of the Year 2014!!! Congratulations Mrs. Seibert!! The Santiago PTA would like to say thank you to all the families and friends that came out in support and to volunteer for the Jog-a-Thon. The Jog-a-Thon is the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year and we can't thank you enough for all of you time and effort. If you would like to keep up to date with the PTA and upcoming activities please visit our website at www.santiagoschoolpta.com . 2014-2015 School Year Calendar Available The 2014-2015 School Calendar is now available on the District website at www.sausd.us . Some key dates for you to calendar are the first day of school for students which is Tuesday, September 2, 2014, the win- ter break recess which is December 22, 2014 January 2, 2015 with students returning to school on Monday, January 5, 2015, and the last day of school which is June 18, 2015. Throughout this month be sure to write a thank you note to our school librarian, Mrs. Richardson, for doing an exceptional job!
