March 29th Missionary Guests
Kurt and Laura Thiel, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, Link Staff Coordinator
Kurt works coaching InterVarsity staff, starting new student chapters around the USA, and helping to develop student work in the Caribbean and Latin America . His wife Laura is a sought–after trainer in prayer and cross cultural ministry . InterVarsity Link exists to serve and promote student witness around the world .
Earl and Tammie Shorrocks, AoG World Missions, Serving Poland
The Shorrocks are newly appointed missionaries to Poland . They have been in the Bay Area for 21 years ministering in various places as evangelists, associate pastor, youth/children's and outreach pastor . They have a history of birthing community events and outreach ministries such as; SideWalk Sunday School and On the Street witnessing programs through the local church . They have always had a heart for lost people and a calling to reach them, disciple them, and send them .
God has now led them to go to Europe to reach the unreached people of Poland . Poland has almost 40 million people, with only .3 percent being believers . God has prepared and equipped them and is now sending them to train and equip national workers to reach Poland .
Fernando and Cindy Napoles, BMW, Huixquilucan, Mexico
On the edge of the "Circle of Silence", the state of Mexico and greater Mexico City constitute an area of great need simply by virtue of their population . Greater Mexico City has approximately the same population as Canada (30 million), concentrated in a relatively small geographical area .
Fernando and Cindy Napoles have established a growing congregation in Huixquilucan (just west of Mexico City) and are seeking to disciple Mexican believers and equip them for ministry . They also opened a cultural center and use English and music classes as a means of evangelism .
In addition to their church planting efforts, the Fernando and Cindy desire to direct a six-week summer internship program which will give college students exposure to a number of aspects of cross-cultural ministry, language acquisition, rural and urban ministries, youth and church ministries and missions philosophy .
