Fantastique Opening Lynn Harrell, Cello John Adams: Tromba Lontana Elgar: Cello Concerto Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique This concert opens with a surprising fanfare by brilliant American contemporary composer John Adams. Lynn Harrell, who has a place in the highest echelon of today’s performing artists, will perform Edward Elgar’s cornerstone of the cello literature. The program closes with the romantic signature piece by Berlioz, telling the story of a gifted artist escaping from hopeless love where his beloved becomes a melody which he hears everywhere.
