SANTA 5K RUN

WHAT IS THE SANTA RUN?The Santa 5K Run/ 1 Mile Walk is an annual Bishop McDevitt family tradition featuring a 5K run and 1 mile course through the high school’s campus with everyone finishing their last lap in Rocco Ortenzio Stadium. The 5K run starts at 11 AM and the 1 mile run/walk starts at noon.

HOW MUCH IS IT?Before Dec. 3nd registration is $30 for adults and $15 for students (K through 12th grade). Registration after Dec 3nd is $35 for adults and $20 for students. Deadline for entries is Dec. 9th.

DO I HAVE TO BUY A SANTA SUIT?No, your registration fee includes your very own Santa hat and Santa long-sleeve shirt. We recommend ordering a larger size than you usually would order. In order to participate, you must wear your Santa outfit.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?Register online by visiting McDevitt’s homepage, www.bishopmcdevitt.org (nominal service fee applies). Online registration closes Wednesday, December 9th at Midnight. Or you can mail your completed registration to Bishop McDevitt High School attn: Santa Run 1 Crusader Way Harrisburg, PA 17111 Mailed registrations must be postmarked by December 6th.

MAY I BRING MY STROLLER OR MY DOG?Yes, we encourage you to run with your small children and dress them and the stroller in light of the Holiday spirit. However, no dogs or furry running companions are allowed on the course.

WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY SANTA HAT AND LONG SLEEVE SHIRT?Participants can pick up their Santa outfit Friday, Dec. 11th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the high school cafeteria or the morning of the run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

CAN MY FRIENDS AND I RUN TOGETHER AS A TEAM?Absolutely! Traveling in a pack is much more fun – just ask Donner and Blitzen! Register with your co-workers, McDevitt classmates, training partners, friends, or family. A team may have an unlimited number of participants.

WILL PRIZES BE AWARDED TO RACE WINNERS?Fun prizes will be awarded to the top male and female adult and student runner as well as to the top runners in the certain age brackets.

I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity that might cause personal injury or even death. I attest and verify that I am medically able and properly trained to enter and to complete this event. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running this event, including weather conditions, traffic and conditions of roads/bridges, all such being known and appreciated by me. I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Bishop McDevitt High school, its employees and agents, the Diocese of Harrisburg and all sponsors, their representatives, and successors from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event. I understand all entries are final, with no refunds and the race organ-izers reserve the right in the event of an emergency of local and national dis-aster to cancel the race or change the day and/or time of the event and there is no refund of entry fees. Finally, I grant permission to all the forgoing to use an photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purposes. All forms must be signed.
