Zonal Battle Battle of words for expressing ideas in a strong and effective way led to a new level of competition at the zonal level when two of our students Payal and Ananya of class X and VII respectively participated in the Zonal Declamation Contest at SKV, Narela on 1 August 2014 .They held the audience spellbound and won appreciation for their invaluable thoughts on the topics ‘Shiksha Ka Naitik Mulya’ and ‘Importance of Rivers’. Inter-Class Hindi Declamation Contest To hone speaking skills of the students from class VI to X and develop a sense of healthy competition in them, an Inter-Class Hindi Declamation Contest on the topic ‘Jansankhya Visphot’ was organised on 02 August 2014. The students came up with different ideas to overcome this problem. Sanskrit Day Sanskrit has been the most important medium in lending continuity to the pristine values of Indian civilization. To mark the contribution of this scriptural language, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Middle Wing on 02 August 2014. The students showcased essence and relevance of this beautiful language through their inspirational speeches and also by reciting its witty verses. Drawing Competition To nurture the artistic skills of the blooming artists, a Drawing Competition on the theme ‘Save Energy’ was organised on 02 August 2014. The students utilized this opportunity to the fullest and mesmerized everyone with their creativity by making many attractive designs. Janmashtami CelebrationsJanmashtami, the Birthday of Lord Krishna, is one of the greatest celebrations among the Hindus. On 10 August 2014, the students participated in an array of performances depicting the fascinating scenes related to Lord Krishna’s life. The students enjoyed this event very much and acquainted themselves with the charismatic character of Shri Krishna, an Incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Independence Day Celebrations

To develop a sense of responsibility and duty towards motherland in students, Independence Day was celebrated on its eve by the students of Primary-Wing. The students entranced the audience with their magnifi cent performances and paid a heart-touching tribute to the martyrs through a variety of programmes depicting their sacrifi ces for getting our nation free from the shackles of foreign rule.

Traditional Dresses of Various Countries“Attire is the refl ection of one’s thoughts and personality.” The same message was understood and disseminated by the students from class III to X when they put on traditional dresses on 23 August 2014. They also gave proof of their creativity, interest and extraordinary efforts by maintaining colourful and decorative scrap books.

Card Designing CompetitionTo express our deep reverence for teachers, a Card Designing Competition was organised on 30 August 2014. The students made breathtakingly beautiful cards as a mark of their regard for their teachers.

Teachers’ Day Celebrations To salute the untiring efforts made by our teachers to carve the future of students, a Cultural Extravaganza titled ‘Naman’ was organized on 4 September 2014. The students presented an array of stupendous performances for honouring the contribution of the great visionaries of the country to the world of education. The chief guest of the day congratulated the students and the staff members for their extraordinary endeavours in putting up such an educational programme.

Poster Making on Forest ConservationThe subject of ‘Afforestation’ got a great boost and support from students when they highlighted the problem of deforestation and expressed their deep concern over this issue on 7 September 2014. Extinction of fl ora and fauna from the surface of the earth found its special mention in the posters made by the students. They spread awareness of this problem through the medium of their creativity.

Grandparents’ Day CelebrationsTo express our respect and love for our older generation, Grandparents’ Day was celebrated on 6 September 2014. To mark the occasion, students expressed their feelings by composing beautiful verses, reciting poems, writing slogans and thus paid their heartfelt tribute to grandparents for their never ending contribution and support for preserving prime values of our rich culture.

Road SafetyTo acquaint the students with the traffi c rules and ensure their safety on road, a Traffi c Awareness Programme was organised on 8 September 2014. Many useful guidelines on road safety were imparted to the students in a seminar by Delhi Traffi c Police. They were apprised of the changing road scenario due to traffi c jams and incidents of road rage. The programme witnessed a large number of active participation.

Inter-Class Declamation ContestTo enhance the skills of public speaking among the students, an Inter-Class Declamation Contest was held on 10 September 2014.The students availed themselves of this opportunity to their heart’s content and exhibited their praiseworthy speaking skills. The best speakers of the class were awarded merit certifi cates.

Inter-Wing Declamation ContestUpholding the motto of an all round development of students, an Inter-Wing Declamation Contest was organized at Rishikul Vidyapeeth, Sonepat on 27 September 2014. Our energetic participants impressed the audience with their convincing communication skills. The contest was not just a display of linguistic skills but also an effort to develop a genuine sensitivity to the world and its problems in students.

Quiz on CensusPopulation count assumed a great importance when students were asked to gather information regarding census. The students equipped themselves with knowledge about every aspect of the process of population count and came prepared for the ‘Quiz on Census’ on 27 September 2014. Shankar House won accolades by bagging the fi rst position.
