INTRODUCTION

Francis Bacon truly said, “Travelling is a best part of knowledge, adventure

and experience.”

The Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM), Bachelor of Information Technology

(B.Sc. IT) and Bachelor of Computer Science (B. Sc. Comp. Sc.) involves in

greater emphasis on practical exposure to the media and the world of

technology. Establishing a connect between the course content & their

practical application enhances the understanding of the students. It was the

wish of the parents, students, teachers and the management. There were 117

students (girls and boys) escorted by the team of the professors beyond

Maharashtra state.

DATE OF THE VISIT (17/1/2016 to 21/1/2016)

In spite of dilemma of fixing the date, the day approached when final decision

was taken. It was decided that there will be industrial visit not more than 5

days towards the north of India. The date was fixed between 17th Jan, to 21st

Jan, 2016. All the students were communicated and given appropriate

information regarding the visit. Students boarded from Bandra Terminus –

Mumbai around 7.00am. The parents also visited at the station to see off their

wards. Students got the seats in different compartments in Swaraj Express.

Though there was confusion about the reservation as it was not given in time

yet we managed it without difficulty. All the students settle down in their

places.

PLACES TO VISIT

It was long and tired journey. We reached Ambala next day morning, 18th Jan,

2016 where the buses were waiting us.

Students took the buses and proceeded towards Shimla

It was a cold weather. Three buses were assigned for the students. In the

evening around 8.00pm we reached in Shimla. Actually the hotel was not in

shimla. The hotel, KOTI RESORT was 30 km away from shimla. Any way the

hotel was good. Students were very much tired so without any disturbance

they took dinner and slept in a chilly night.

On 19th Jan, 2016 morning, after breakfast, students proceeded at Kufri, a

small hilly place where students enjoyed in riding, driving, climbing and so on.

Suddenly the weather of the place - kufri changed.

The temperature gone down and the climate became very cold. The snowfall

started. It was amazing, the scene was wonderful. Even the monkey surprised

of the nature. We came back to hotel around 4.00pm. Everybody enjoyed the

beauty of snowfall for one hour.

Finally we took lunch and proceeded to Chandigarh on 19th evening. We could

not reach in time to Chandigarh due to heavy snowfall. We reached in

ISQAURE HOTEL on 20th morning around 3.00am.

On 20th morning, after breakfast BMM students visited Riddhi Packages Ltd.

The students keenly observed every single aspect of the process, machinery &

techniques. They not only showed interest in learning the complex process &

techniques but also actively produced intelligent questions. (Recording is

available.)

IT & C.S. students visited in Elen Electonics. The visit gave an insight view of

functioning small electronic devices and tools. It gave practical exposure,

knowledge and experienced.

CS & IT STUDENTS IN ELEN ELECTRONICS

After industrial visit, students took lunch in Square Hotel and proceeded for

the sight seen at Rock garden in Chandigarh on 20th Jan, 2016. They enjoyed &

feel very much relax.

On the same day students went to rock garden and did some short of

marketing. 20th night, students took part in DJ party.

On 21st morning, after breakfast we left for Mumbai. We got the seats

comfortably. We did lunch and dinner in the train. All the students along with

the escorts reached Mumbai on 22nd Jan, 2016 safely.

Suggestions:

1. Long tour should not be allowed.

2. Students meeting should be conducted before fixing the industrial visit.
