CHAPTER 1

Financial Future 1

It is true that he, who fails to plan, has already

planned to fail. Failure is a gradual thing just as

success or financial freedom does not happen all of

a sudden. Financial freedom or success does not

occur without appropriate and efficient planning.

The heights reached and kept by great men werenot attained by sudden fight, but while their

companions slept, they were toiling upward in the

night. The people who got rich legitimately,

whether consciously or unconsciously, planned how

to get there prior to acquiring wealth. Planning is

an essential key to wealth realization. Therefore,

success is not by chance but it is a choice.

Today is simply a result of the choices you made

yesterday, and your tomorrow will be the

byproduct of the choices you will make today.

Consequently, your financial future would be the

aftermath of the choices you make as regards your

money today. The pitiable financial position of

many people presently is simply because they

failed to think and plan about their financial future

yesterday. They are the architects of their own

misfortunes. Research reveals that 60% of home

break-ups and divorce is due to financial problems.

Do you know that most stress is directly or

indirectly related to concerns for money? Money

problems or financial problems usually result in

lowered self-esteem. It is obvious that money

problems or financial problems are usually life-

threatening; they can lead you into crime no

matter what you profess to believe. It can affect

your health, destroy your marriage, and annihilate

your sense of self-worth. With all these negatives

attached to financial problems, it is therefore

principal to understand the roadmap to your

financial freedom.

The way to financial freedom, if you desire it, is as

simple as A. B. C. Becoming financially successful

has nothing to do with your age, race, or location.

The knowledge of how to be successful is more

valuable than success itself.

Remember, if you do not have a goal, you become

a goat. Planning is the platform you use to process

your thoughts to empower your progress in life.

There are seven (7) the basic secrets you must

know about becoming financially independent. I

will expatiate on this in the next couple of

chapters.

Friends, God did not create you to suffer

financially. Sit down and consider the factors

hindering your financial independence. Why are

you not rich by now? It may be because you have

not taken to any of these secrets. Believed God for

a change in your finances and He will give you a

testimony.

CHAPTER 2

Financial Future 2

I will start with the first 3 secrets here and reveal

the remaining 4 in the subsequent chapters.

Dear friends,

The first place to start your journey to financial

freedom and then proceed to financial

independence is in your MIND. Mans greatest

asset for wealth creation is his mind, and the mind

is the bedrock for an ideal life. The whole world is

a product of some peoples minds. If you use your

hands you will feed yourself, but if you use your

mind you will feed generations. Shout this loud

now. I will use my mind. Before you see

money with your eyes, you must first see it with

your mind. Your mind is the manufacturing

company of ideas. God will never throw down

money from heaven, but He will always give you

an idea and a seed (some amount of moneyprovided by God) to act on the ideas and become

rich. However, if your mindset is wrong, you will

not use the idea or worse still, you would eat your

seed and then remain poor. If you are poor, it is

your choice. Ideas form and rule the world.

Whatever stops you from getting any idea has

stopped you from obtaining money. The best

investment you can ever make is to train your

mind to produce ideas.

Dear friend, change your mindset to be rich by

making a pivotal change. You need to acquire

financial materials, attend financial seminars, have

a strong and unflinching focus, engage in fruitful

givings to God, people, and ultimately depend on

the faithful God. If you refuse to change your

mindset, then you remain in chains.

CHAPTER 3

Making Money and Investing Money

Dear friends, the next step is saving. You must

make up your mind to start saving. Saving is the

first step in the temple of wealth and no climbing is

made unless the first step is taken. Michael Stolper

said Save and you shall be saved. The foundation

of your financial future lies strongly in saving 25%

of your income regularly in a good bank; using a

good bank product. At least save some percentage

of your income even when it increases. One most

important wealth-building word is SAVE. Research

reveals that if you save N20 for 20 years at 20%

per average rate, it yields N1.9m. What you keep

will keep you and what you save will save you.

The next secret is spending money. Profligate

spending is the originator of the disintegration of

lives, homes and nations. Spending is made up of

your living expenses, therefore to build your

financial future, you must shape your spending.

Make a budget, it will help you manage your

spending. Plan ahead by using a spending

calendar. Never buy anything unless you

absolutely need it. Decide on expenses to make

before you are faced with them.

Dear friend, the next secret to building your

financial future is Learning how to make

money. You must have goods and services

people are willing to pay for before you can make

money.

There are two things you can use to make money:

(1) Money or idea

(2) A combination of money and idea.

The next secret is Investment. A certain

percentage of your income must go into

investment. Investing your money is allowing your

money to work for you. Learn to invest in shares,

buy properties, go into general business, invest in

Treasury bills, bonds and other good bank

products. To learn more about stocks and shares

read my books on How to make money fromstocks and shares (A simplified approach). Dont

joke with investment most especially n stocks and

shares if you want to build a solid foundation for

your financial future. Research unveils that 420 out

of 450 Billionaires in the world got their billions

through stocks and shares, and most of them

including the first, second, and forth richest man in

the world maintain their money through stock and

shares.

The second to the last secret is Enjoying your

money. This absolutely depends on how you

handle lifes luxuries. Using the most expensive

things does not mean you are using the best

things. Enjoying your money should be your

priority, and by this I mean deriving satisfaction. If

I take fruit rather than soft drinks, I derive more

quality satisfaction from the good fruit becausesoft drinks are byproducts of good fruit. You enjoy

the fruit and also conserve some money because

the fruit is not as expensive as the soft drink.

Henry David Thoreau once said, That man is the

richest, whose pleasures are the cheapest. Let

your pleasure and luxury be cheap to maintain and

it will help your financial future.

CHAPTER 4

Learn to Use Your Money Wisely

The last secret is learn to give a portion of

your income to GOD and other people. It is a

spiritual principle in becoming financially

independent. You can never go beyond the

pinnacle of what you can give. Allow the money in

your hands to flow. That is why money is called

currency; it flows like a current. The best way to

judge people is by what they give. Giving is always

the thermometer of our love for others. Make all

you can, save all you can, give all you can. Giving

is a proof that you have conquered greed. When

you sow, you grow; when you grow, you flow;

when you flow, you overflow; and when you

overflow, you dominate. However, it all starts from

sowing.

Luke 6: 38says Give and it shall be given to

unto you; good measure, pressed down, and

shaken together, and running over, shall men

give into your bosom.
