1 PROJECT OVERVIEW AND INSTITUTIONAL ARRANGEMENT

Lower Likhu Hydropower Project (LLHP) is a run-of-river (RoR) hydropower project which utilizes 118 m Gross Head and Design Discharge of 29.75 m3/s resulting an installed capacity of 28.1 MW. The entire project area (Headworks to Powerhouse) is located in Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality (Saipu-2 and Bijulikot-4) of Ramechhap Province-3. Geographically, the project lies between longitudes 86°15’38” E to 86°13’17” E and latitudes 27°25’56” N to 27°22’47”N.

Lower Likhu Hydropower Project (LLHP) was identified by Swet Ganga Hydropower & Construction Ltd. which received Generation License from Department of Electricity Development (DoED), the then Ministry of Energy (MoEN), Government of Nepal (GoN on 2nd Baishak 2073 (14th April 2016) for its implementation. The license period of the project is from 28th Chaitra 2072 to 27th Chaitra 2107 B.S Swet Ganga has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on 14th Poush 2073 (29th Dec 2016).

6. CIVIL CONSTRUCTION WORK PROGRESS

6.1 HEAD WORKS

Excavation for flood wall is going on up to level 729m. Excavation for drainage channel (for river diversion) is continued.

6.2 TUNNEL

6.2.1 HRT INLET PORTAL

Five Successful blast have been completed at inlet portal. 5 meter length of tunnel has been excavated. 3 steel ribs has been installed (@1m spacing) and shot Crete work around the tunnel has

been ongoing.

6.2.2 SETI OUTLET PORTAL

Four successful blast have been completed at seti outlet portal. 4 meter length of tunnel has been excavated. 3 Steel ribs has been installed (@1m spacing) with shot Crete work is ongoing.

6.2.3 SETI INLET PORTAL

Four successful blast have been completed at seti inlet portal. 5 meter length of tunnel has been excavated. 3 steel ribs has been installed (@0.5m spacing) with shot Crete work is going on.

7. SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENT

Lower Likhu Hydropower has been co-ordinating with local stake holders and representative from elected bodies for the smooth run of the project. As per the request of local community, and as a part of environmental and social works the following activities has been commence at site:

Maintenance of irrigation canal at Sirise bazar. Excavation for drinking water works at Seti. Opening of new track at Dumre besi for the transport of construction materials upto

Auronaday School. Facilitated the upgrading and maintenance of road from Sirise to Poku by providing 100ltr of

diesel. Irrigation canal maintenance at Sathibesi. Road landslide clear at Tarkerabari. Excavation of drinking water tank at Ratmata. Road excavation for materials transport to Gramonadaya school at Khalte Upgrading and maintenance of road at Pokali. 10 m3 Gabion support to kalleri irrigation canal committee at Pokali Upgrading and maintenance of road from Sirise to Gamlangtar.

The civil contractor will extract the construction material within the project boundary as per the approved EIA report without degrading the environment and getting approval from the engineer. 8. EQUIPMENT BREAKDOWN

Frequently problems on Shot Crete machine. Excavator Doosan 225LC’s Bucket is taken to Manthali for Repair on 6th Mangsir.

9. VISITORS OF THE MONTH

CEO of Dolma Impact Fund Visited the site on 14th November 2018.

10. ACCIDENT

No accidents and casualties in this month.

11. WORK PROGRESS AT SITE

Brick masonry work has been completed up to first floor at head works staff quarter. Second floor Brick masonry work is under-construction at head works staff quarter. Ground floor and first floor painting work is going on at head works staff quarter. Ground floor and first floor wiring work is going on at head works building. Contractor’s main general store has been setup at Seti Area. Construction of contractor camp has been completed at power house. Construction of well has been completed at power house. Layout for tailrace is carried out as per new issued drawing. Construction of guest house building, main workshop is on final stage at Seti Area. Construction of water tank is on final stage at Seti Area. Road diversion work has been completed at Head works inlet portal. Access road from head works to power house has been completed. Construction of water tank is going on at surge shaft area. From Power house to Surge shaft access road is complete. From Power house to Outlet portal access road is complete. Access road maintenance and gabion work is being carried out at Poku inlet portal area. Open blast is ongoing to prepare the portal at the Poku inlet area. Construction of contractor’s store is ongoing at Headworks area. The dry stone works at the Kholsi draining (near the inlet portal) of head works is complete. Hydro mechanical contractor MMM has been visited at site. They had been finalized factory

and material stock area nearby Kabetar. MMM contractor request us to acquire the 12 ropani land and this land shall be leased with local community.

132KVA Transmission line final route survey is ongoing.
