    With the objective of enriching the gamut of activities and events already undertaken by

    the college and in an endeavour to promote business and technical education at the

    grassroots, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies comes up with its annual Tech

    Fest-Sanganak15.

    The event, which has, seen its popularity soar by leaps and bounds last year, promises to

    bring with it loads of excitement in the 2015 version. The previous versions saw

    unprecedented success in its diversity and high degree of participation, excellent

    competitions and extremely favourable feedback. There is already a positive buzz in thestudent community regarding its follow-up Sanganak15. Joining the league of such

    events, we wish to make Sanganak15an impeccably organized, as is the hallmark of our

    ABOUT THE COLLEGE

    Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (University of Delhi) has a legacy of

    academic and professional excellence since its inception by the Human Resource

    Development Ministry in 1987. The BBS, BFIA and B.Sc(H) Computer Science courses in

    the college attract the best students from all over the country, selected through a

    rigorous entrance screening system consisting of an entrance examination, group

    discussion and interview. Our Principal, Dr. Poonam Verma is a Ph.D. from the University

    of Delhi. For Dr. Verma, the aim is to take this objective beyond the level of an individual

    to an institution and to become instrumental in creating centres of academic excellence.

    The program curriculum in each of the above courses is designed by experienced faculty

    and lays the foundation for teaching fundamentals, and develops conceptual and

    analytical reasoning. Students learn how to analyse complex situations, develop

    strategies and implement them. Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS)

    Where technology comes to life

    Vision

    To non-CBSites, the perception of CBS maybe of only a Management college but do

    we CBSites think that way? Not at all.

    The presence of a wide diversity in talents in college is what defines it and makes it the

    best in the nation. Proving the same fact, Kronos-The Tech Society Of the college

    organized Sanganak14-The Annual Tech Fest of SSCBS on 27th& 28thFebruary. This was

    the second edition of the event organized at inter-college level. The event was presided

    over by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kr. Mutto, Head of Department of Computer

    Science, University of Delhi and Mr. Nishant Kavi (Guest of honor) from Nokia. The two

    day event presented a plethora of events to keep the technology freaks on the edge of

    their seats. Events included: Nokia ApptITude The Nokia App Development

    Competition with theme- student-based apps, Decode, NFS LAN Gaming, IT Crosswords

    and Query Master. Decode helped enhance and test the knowledge and application of

    C++ programming language and its efficiency in finding solutions to the given

    problems. Enmity brought to fore exciting LAN battles for the students with 2 individual

    battles- Counter Strike and Need For Speed- Most Wanted.

    In addition to above events, IT quiz, Tech debate and FIFA auction along with the LAN

    battle of Counter Strike was conducted. IT quiz spanned around the awareness of

    Information Technology. ApptITude The Nokia App Development Competition set to

    combine the nuances of a student needs with the innovative ideas pertaining to digitalapplications. Organized in collaboration with Nokia, it set to test the creativity and skills

    of students in designing applications as well as presenting them. This event had Nokia

    Lumia phones at stake to be distributed by Nokia itself.

    A number of filler events were also used as a means to engage a diverse and wide

    ranging audience for the event. Fillers engaged the participants in events like Treasure

    Hunt, Sudoku and a JAM session along with online IT quiz held in association with

    Brainwiz. Cash prizes up to 35,000 and Nokia devices and other products worth Rs. 1

    It is a coding competition in C++ programming language. In this event, we have several

    rounds to check the programming abilities of the participants and engage them in

    writing and solving such problems.

    Thwack the confusion and proceed with your imagination.

    Negate monotony and decode in symphony.

    Rules and regulations:

    Teams of 2 will be entertained.

    First round will be a questionnaire with MCQs.

    In Second round, a program will be given to write the coding.

    It is the technology quiz that claims it will have even the most hardcore geeks grinding

    LAN Gaming

    Are all students ready to grow on their gaming skills? Its time now, to redefine your

    skills, commit and come up with your motives of winning and engrave your victory in

    the history. So, come up with your victory and unleash a series of prizes that you would

    have never thought of.

    It is a gaming competition which would be a multiplayer game based on LAN

    connection. In this competition, the participants would be required to keep a focus on

    their own gaming skills and the participants would then be marked on the basis of their

    participation.

    Basic conditions:

    1. It is a multiple player game.

    2. Participants will have to work in teams.

    3. Best team will win in games like counter strike.

    4. Best gamer will win in games like Need for speed(NFS), in which participants will

    be connected through LAN and will compete with each other.

    Hackerzilla

    If you have always enjoyed trying to gain access to things, youre not really supposed to

    play around with. Youre no longer 13 and want bigger and more complex challenges.

    We have lots of small hacking challenges like: analyze the code, simple TCP

    communication application, crypto cracking.

    They are designed to find and challenge the best emerging cyber security talent and to

    encourage students to pursue careers and fill the acute shortage of trained

    professionals in the field.

    The competition will earn a reputation for being accessible to beginners but challenging

    enough to attract even professionals.

    It tests the application security skills of undergraduate students interested in computer

    security. Competitors mount attacks on vulnerable applications and solved offense

    challenges in their quest to earn the most points, or "flags."

    Robo-Wars

    Robotics competitionis an event where robots have to accomplish a task. Usually they

    have to beat other robots in order to become the best one.

    "The Robotics" competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science

    and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25

    students or more are challenged to raise funds, hone teamwork skills, and build and

    program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. Its as close

    to "real-world engineering" as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend

    their time and talents to guide each team.

    Robo-fest challenges student teams, to design, build, and program fully autonomous

    robots. It is open to professionals, hobbyists, college students and advanced high school

    students.

    You can participate in the Apps Developer Challenge by developing new applications

    built using the latest SDKs. The sections below provide information about the types of

    applications you may enter, as well as the contest information and dates. Developers

    may submit their apps to one of three specially-designated competition categories. An

    application may only be submitted to a single category.

    A treasure hunt is any activity that requires solving puzzles or riddles in some easily

    portable and widely reproduced format, and then using hidden CLUES to find a real

    treasure somewhere in the physical world. However, although these may seem to be for

    children, this genre is aimed at dedicated adults and to involve the participants in some

    physical and interesting activity. This filler event pulls maximum crowd. Search for the

    truth. Join the adventure. Be a member of the treasure hunt trip.

    Skip the fear.

    The excitement is sheer.

    Hunt for the hidden.

    Dont be bed-ridden.

    Tug of war, also known as rope war, is a sport that directly pits two teams against each

    other in a test of strength.

    Cling on to the rope.

    There is plenty of hope.

    Indulge in a war of crisis and thrive under pressure.

    Dont fall or succumb.

    Sudo-War

    Its a mind game. The competition typically consists of 50 or more puzzles solved by all

    competitors over multiple timed rounds, including classic Sudoku and variations,

    followed by a playoff for the top qualifiers to determine a champion. This game checks

    the numerical and logical skills of the participants.

    The prizes will be given to the players who will fill the complete Sudoku correctly in

    short time span..

    The tournament consists of three parts: the Preliminary Contests, the Semi Final and the

    Final.

    Snakes and Ladders

    Snakes and Laddersis an ancient Indian board game regarded today as a worldwide

    classic. It is played between two or more players on a game board having numbered,

    gridded squares. A number of "ladders" and "snakes" are pictured on the board, each

    connecting two specific board squares. The objective of the game is to navigate one's

    game piece, according to die rolls, from the start (Bottom Square) to the finish (Top

    Square), helped or hindered by ladders and snakes respectively.

    To make this world wide played game more interesting, we will play it in 3-D on the

    ground. We will use participants as the game pieces. The whole setup of snake and

    ladder will be sketched on the ground and participants will have to move themselves

    instead of the game pieces, as is usually done in on board snake and ladder game.

    IPL Auction

    The first round will comprise of a sports quiz for all participant teams. 6 teams will be

    selected for final round i.e. auction round, a virtual budget will be assigned to the team

    for buying players having different bits on them after completion. Whoever team fulfils

    all the criteria and will be having highest score (calculated by an algorithm running in

    background) will be declared winner.

    Be all students ready to make your team, the strongest. Support participants teamwork.

    Sometimes there is no next time, no second chance. This is it. It's now or never.

    Rules and regulations:-

    1. A team of 2 members would be entertained.

    2. The budget would be allotted on the spot.

    3. The marking of the team would be done on the following basis:-

    a.

    Team should have at least 7 players.

    b. Highest scorers will be declared as winners.

    c. The overpowering skills over other teams.

    Sound mixing

    This event will check participants Djskills. Show your damn cool stunts on the

    loudspeakers and rock the world. This is the only time to get on the stage and spread

    over all the hearts and mind by your rocking mash up skills. So, students must get up

    and work hard to be on all the lips.

    In this competition, the competitors will select songs on their own and mix them up

    using their own skills.

    Video MakingIts a complete entertaining event in which we want the participants to come up with

    their video mixing skills to make their visual much better and glorious than the mash-up,

    come on with their mixing ideas and experience a completely new adventure of video

    mixing world.

    Detangle

    Its an event which is based to check the patience of the participant. In this event, the

    hands of the participant will be tied behind them with ropes. Then the participants will

    be allotted some amount of time in which they will have to untie the ropes from their

    hands by using their presence of mind and patience.

    IT Tambola

    This contest is to check the catchy ideas in the minds of the contestants. It is just similar

    to the tambola game. They will have to solve the puzzles and riddles they would be

    asked and would be rewarded points. The first, second and the third persons to win the

    contests will be rewarded with gifts.

    Poster Making

    In this event, the students will have to show their skills in designing posters. The

    participants will have to design different types of colourful and attractive posters on the

    allotted topic. The participants will have to accomplish their work of designing the

    posters in the given time.

    Basic conditions:-

    1. It is an individual event.

    2. Every participant will be allotted time and topic at the starting of the competition.

    3. The posters should be well thought and designed.

    4. The individual participant will be marked on the basis of their presentation.

    In these events, the participants will compete against each other.

    Such an event always tends to attract a great amount of interest and

    participation, owing to the high enthusiasm of Information technology

    in our generation.

    The events are carefully selected after thorough survey & assessment of

    several students so that maximum number of students participates in the

    events conducted by our society. The structure of event is designed in a

    championship way, in which teams advance through stages, and slowly to

    the finals to win the championship. The winners and the runners-up will be

    awarded prizes.

    Venue

    Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies has a well equipped Audio

    Visual Hall and Conference Room with modern teaching aids such as LCD projector,

    overhead projector, personal address and conference system. The A/V Room is used for

    presentations and guest lectures of the College alumni and Various Corporate

    executives. Each classroom is equipped with its own overhead projector.

    Computer Laboratories

    The college has four well equipped computer laboratories, . The college has a network

    of 30-35 IBM and Compaq P-IV machines in each of the three labs. The computer labs

    are networked using windows and Unix platforms. The labs are enriched with a

    collection of latest software like Unix, C++, Visual Basic, Oracle etc. In addition, these

    labs are equipped with multimedia facilities, scanner, CD writer, DVD writer etc.

    Captive audience of about 1500-2000 shall be the participants. The posters, word-of-

    mouth and aggressive online promotion will however, reach thousands of college and

    school students all over India. Also, this event will help increase your brand visibility for

    two full days.

    The student community which will comprise a major part of our audience would include

    students not only from CBS, but also from colleges across Delhi University, and other
