There are many different types of memorials you can choose from at Sandwell ValleyCrematorium. This booklet will help guide you through the options available. Personalappointments are available with a Memorial Advisor at Sandwell Valley Crematorium.

This is a one to one appointment to answer any questions you may have about thememorials. Once you have decided on a memorial we can arrange for your memorial tobe ordered.

The SanctumThe Sanctum Memorial is a freestanding pinkgranite memorial. It has space for you to place twocaskets of cremated remains inside and aboveground level. It also comes with a flower holder foryou to place floral tributes.The memorial is sealed at the front with yourinscribed gold lettering on a balmoral red graniteplaque. You can choose to add a motif or photoplaque for an additional cost.

The Sanctum PlusThe Sanctum Plus is a freestanding wine granitememorial similar to the Sanctum but is sealed witha black granite plaque and a choice of either goldor silver lettering. The Sanctum Plus also has theaddition of a small garden area either side of thememorial.

The Family SanctumThe Family Sanctum memorial is a larger freestanding wine granite memorial. It hasspace for you to place four caskets of cremated remains inside and above groundlevel. It comes with two flower holders for you to place floral tributes. The memorial is sealed at the front with your inscribed black granite plaque andlettering is available in gold or silver. You can choose to add a motif or photo plaque foran additional cost.

The Family Sanctum PlusThe Family Sanctum Plus is a larger freestanding wine granite memorial. The memorialis sealed at the front with your inscribed black granite plaque and lettering is availablein gold or silver. The Family Sanctum Plus has the addition of a small garden areaeither side of the memorial.

Baby Garden MushroomsThe Mushroom memorial is a small granite disc, which is placedon a granite mushroom within the Baby Garden at SandwellValley Crematorium.There is a small grassed hill in the centre of the Baby Gardenwhere the scattering of cremated remains take place.Within the garden is a peaceful oak tree which has seatingaround it, for you to sit and feel comforted in this dedicated area.There is a wooden gazebo in the garden for you to place floraltributes and tokens in memory of loved ones.The mushrooms come in two sizes small (holding 4 discs) andlarge (holding 6 discs).

Cloister MemorialThe Cloister memorials are provided tocontain the cremated remains aboveground as an alternative to scattering. Thecloister memorial is a pink granite unitdivided into twelve individual memorials.You can place up to two caskets ofcremated remains inside each memorialand there is a small bronze flower holderfor you to place floral tributes.

The Cloister memorial is sealed with ablack granite tablet which you can haveengraved with an inscription of your choice.You can also choose to have a motif orphoto plaque included for an additionalcharge.

Bird Bath MemorialThe Bird Bath Memorial Plaque is agranite memorial for those who would liketo have somewhere to visit in memory oftheir loved ones.

There are 5 different rows of tablets thatvary in size.

The Bird Bath Memorial is within easywheelchair access from the main car park.

MonolithThe Monolith is a freestanding granitememorial. You can place up to two urns ofcremated remains inside the memorialabove ground level.

This memorial is sealed with two individualtablets that can be gilded with aninscription of your choice.

Monoliths are located along the woodlandwalk.

Granite Wall PlaqueThe Granite Wall Unit is made from pinkgranite, which has a carved rose at the top,giving it an elegant appearance.

The memorial is a black polished tabletwith a gilded inscription, which is recessedinto the unit.

Each unit holds eight tablets. Thismemorial is within easy access from themain car park.

Asbury MemorialThe Asbury Memorial is a small flat tablet,made from granite which displays yourinscription in black relief lettering. TheAsbury memorial also has a small flowerholder for you to place floral tributes.Cremated remains can be scatteredbehind the memorial.

Memorial Vase(existing positions only)*

The Memorial Vase has a white marblebase with a polished granite tablet and agilded inscription.

A flower holder is included for families toplace a floral tribute.

The Book of RemembranceThe Book of Remembrance is available Sandwell ValleyCrematorium. You can choose your own inscription which isthen hand painted into the book of remembrance on yourchosen date. You can choose to have a motif for an additionalcost. Each page of the book is dedicated to a day of the yearand the pages are turned daily to ensure the correspondingdate is on display.

There is an individual book room located near to the car park atSandwell Valley Crematorium where the book of remembranceis located. There is also an electronic book of remembrance sothat you can view your entry on any day of the year.

Path Edge PlaqueA Path Edge Plaque is a granite memorialwith a relief-lettering inscription of yourchoice, in memory of a loved one.

There is the option to have two caskets ofcremated remains placed beneath theplaque, underground. A flower holder isprovided for you to place flowers.

Wall PlaqueThe Wall Plaque is a granite memorial, forthose who would like to have somewhereto visit in memory of their loved ones.

Situated on the memorial walls close tothe Chapel, the Wall Plaques are withineasy access from the main car park.

Vault Memorial(existing positions only)

The Vault Memorial has a white marblebase and holds a polished granite plaquedisplaying your chosen inscription in goldlettering.

There is a flower holder included for you toplace flowers.

You can choose to add a motif or photoplaque for an additional cost.

General InformationMonthly GardensSandwell Valley Crematorium has 12 individualgardens, each dedicated to a month of the year.

If you have chosen a witness scattering ofcremated remains you will need to contact us on0121 569 6701 to arrange a suitable time and dayfor the scattering to take place.

Family HistoryThe burial registers for Sandwell Council’sCemeteries are held at the Sandwell ValleyCrematorium Office. You do not have to book anappointment to view the books and this service isfree of charge.

Period of leaseAll memorials are subject to a period of lease.

For more information regarding the initial lease ofa memorial please contact a Memorial Advisor on0121 569 6791/6793.

Families are able to extend the lease, at the end ofthe initial period, by paying a renewal fee (seeprice list for details)
