Sandrine Astier lives and creates in Brussels, Belgium. Her work is a combination of musicians’ portraits and landscapes, mostly influenced by Frida Khalo and religious paintings.
She has painted privately commissioned paintings for clients from all over the globe and exhibited her work in various galleries throughout Europe.

MUSIC IS COLOR ONGOING PROJECT SINCE 2014
“I believe that painting is close to music as both art forms tend to express feelings through harmony, rhythm and color, thus creating a common vibration. As the great Miles Davis said, ‘Music is a painting that can be heard, and the painting is music you can see’.”
The portrait, once done, serves as illustration for the online publication of the audio mix on the Mixcloud platform: www.mixcloud.com/musiciscolor/ and social networks.
Music is color is a creative collaboration between DJs and a painter, Sandrine Astier, who illustrates a DJ’s mix through his portrait. For Sandrine, the essence of this project lies in expressing the correlation between music and painting:
