My Testimony

I have grown up here in the South Valley of

Albuquerque in a drug infested area. I grew up

starting off staying out of trouble thinking that that

made me good person. As I got into my final high

school years I started getting into drugs and lived my

life in bondage being a slave to my drug addiction.

This life ended me up in prison for six years. After

being released from prison, I attempted to break

away from my life of sin and addiction. I even tried

going to church. Nothing seemed to work for me; I

just kept ending up right back in my life of addiction, guilt, and failures. I was

dragging my three kids along with me on this endless ride. At another attempt of

changing my life I was introduced to Pastor Fred at Sandia Church of the

Nazarene. I experienced what it was like to have people around me that loved me

and wanted to help get me connected to Jesus. I cannot say that I surrendered to

the Lord when I first had the opportunity but I am happy to give God the glory

for what He has done in my life recently. On the first morning of our corporate

fast and prayer time I fully surrendered to Jesus asking Him to deliver me from

my addictions and all sin that had ruled my life up to that day. I am living free in

Jesus because He has forgiven me, and set me free!

I have been delivered,

Alfonso Romero

Dramatic Christian Ministries Sept. 4th at 11am

“The Book of James” James, the earthly brother of Jesus, drives home this point as he patiently but

powerfully explains how faith and work together. Listen, watch and learn the

meaning of our faith put into action from the mouth of one who had the

privilege of growing up with Jesus and who watched first hand his ministry

from the very beginning to the end. There is no greater personal testimony

then that of James. After seeing this presentation, the Book of James may well

become a favorite. of your people.

I am humbled to report how I

am learning to pray on a more

personal level. The more I seek

God the more I am beginning

to understand His Grace,

Mercy, and unlimited, uncondi-

tional, just Love. After com-

pleting a corporate time of

prayer and fasting of 40 days, I

feel like we as a Church will

never be same again. I have

seen a huge change in us as a

church being united as the

body of Christ uniting in the

same goal of having God’s will

done in our lives together. God

has revealed Himself to me in

new ways. It has been made

clear to me that continuing to

grow together in corporate

prayer will take us to places

being used by god that we have

been yet. I want to personally

invite everyone to join us at

Fort Worth Tabernacle in Oc-

tober for the prayer conference.

Please see the information

listed in the news letter for the

details. Meet you at the altar.

Pastor Fred

What’s Happening?

Come join us and bring your friends to Bible Quiz practice every Wednesday 4:00-5:30 in

Kids’ Zone. We are studying the book of Matthew this year. Our first quiz meet is September

10th. September is a fun month because we get to find out what our Christmas musical will be.

All boys and girls kindergarten through sixth grade are needed to make this the best Christmas

program ever! Practices are on Wednesday nights. Coming SOON!!

Grace Restoration Center Last month at Grace Restoration Center we celebrated

our kick off Sunday Worship service on August 14, 2011. There were ten in attendance

for our very first Sunday. We are doing a sermon series on the book of John. Services are

at 11am in an easy, laid-back atmosphere. Coffee, juice and light refreshments are served

along with the Good News that Jesus Christ loves us and has come to set us free from our

sins. Praise God for what he has done. Greater things are yet to come! Other Bible Studies

offered at Grace Restoration Center are a midweek food bank Bible Study, and Celebrate

Recovery, a Christian 12 step recovery program. Starting September 6, 2011 we will be

teaching the Recovery classes twice a week, the second class will be Tuesdays 6:30 to

8:30pm with dinner provided.

YDDC-Youth Diagnostic & Development Center (Correction Facilities) God has given me the opportu-

nity under Conviction Ministries to go into the Ivy Pod at YDDC on Thursday nights at 7pm. The first night God

wanted me to share my testimony with the guys and the staff in the pod, (about 27 guys and 4 staff.). Out of the 27 guys,

25 asked God for His purpose so they can testify! God has given me approval with the staff and the young men in the

Unit. Please continue to pray as Arthur Pacheco will be applying for Clearance to assist me in the Unit.

Back-2-School Bash was a huge success. Saturday at Grace Restoration Center we ministered to about 420 people

between English speaking service and Spanish speaking service done by Pastor Antonio and we gave out 175 backpacks.

Sunday night we ministered to 475 people and gave out 225 backpacks. Thank you everybody who helped make this

event a success, we couldn’t have done it without you.

The Youth Ministry is growing. Almost every service is full of teenagers God is Good! Friday

Night R.A.V.E is going to be awesome, starting this month there will be skits, dancing etc.

Lets start getting excited not just with the teens in our church but outside in the community

and schools for that that have not yet been reach by the Gospel of Jesus.
