PS: -- key dates/events on the horizon, please mark your calendars...and other handy info. 1) Please register for CP-VIII by going to https://www.uscyberpatriot.org/register/team-or-volunteer-registration. Through

Volunteer Central, you will be able to register up to five teams as a Coach and/or submit a Technical Mentor/Team Assistant application. Additionally, once fully registered, Coaches, Technical Mentors and Team Assistants can use Volunteer Central to search for and contact one another about working together to train students for the competition. If you register as a Coach through Volunteer Central, please note, excepting the fee exemptions and discounts for teams that registered before July 1 identified here, the payable registration fee for each Open Division team is $195 and for each Middle School Division team is $155. All Service Division teams and Civil Air Patrol teams competing in the Middle School Division will be automatically exempted from the fee due to funding agreements with service headquarters. CyberCity Prep for CyberPatriot to view videos produced by our coaches, for our coaches,

sharing lessons learned and key information. A great place to start or a good refresher.

You may find the TAMU-Corpus Christi developed training materials and practice images on the CP website (http://www.uscyberpatriot.org/CP5/Training.aspx) useful as well. 4) Great article "Report finds D.C. area a hotbed for cybersecurity jobs"

And another one, related…"American Career Aspirations Do Not Include Cybersecurity"

5) In case you missed the San Antonio Mayor's Cyber Cup luncheon, here are the

6) Share with your students…1) study IT and cybersecurity, and 2) be a model citizen…

“Despite a declining job market and salaries for security-cleared professionals overall in

the past two years – in large part due to budget cuts, furloughs and sequestration – there’s two

fields that were immune to those declines and hardships: IT and cybersecurity.”
