Gilbert-Chappell Award Won the Distinguished Poet award for the Western Carolina region and worked with Richard Chess (of UNCA). Read at the Western Carolina Literary Festival in April, 2014. Raleigh Review Scholarship Seat Won full funding to attend a workshop and reading held by Mark Smith-Soto as well as a second workshop and reading held by Joseph Bathanti. City Lights Bookstore: Coffee with the Poet Had the honor of being the poet for the month of February 2014 to give a workshop and reading at City Lights Bookstore and Coffee Shop. NC State University: Was a Faculty Advisor for Red Poetry Society at NCSU assisting with funding, supervising, and student support.
