His first trip lead to North America in March 15, 1603. As a member of a fur trading expedition
After return to France on September 20 he created a map of the St. Lawrence River
Historical BackgroundAfter setting a settlement in Algonquins Quebec he helped erecting houses, sowed grain, and did all he could to develop the fur trade
At July 3, 1608 he landed at the point of Quebec which would become later Quebec City
