Peril is knocking at the door of earth in form of environmental pollution.

Noise of 5th ice age is felt. Symbol of sanctity and standard of water

purity in India the river Ganges has become cause of cancer due to

pollution. Rivers are carrier and collector of industrial and chemical slag

and wastes. Glaciers of the Himalayan are contracting. Rivers emerging

from the glaciers which are means of economic and social nourishment

of people of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, china, Myanmar, Vietnam,

Thailand and Pakistan are on verges of becoming dry. These rivers were

full of water round the year, but within fifty year these rivers will be

water less in summer season and turn into ravine or gutter. Due to

haphazard increase in industrial network there is uncontrolled abnormal

rise in emission of green house gases (carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide,

water vapor ----etc) to atmosphere. There is strong and formidable shield

of green gases around the atmosphere. Due to green gas shield requisite

solar energy does not reach earth in winter season to heat earth surface.

So, during winter season average temperature of earth falls. In summer

season heat dissipated by earth surface does not radiate in to space due to

green layer of atmosphere so, the temperature in summer is increasing.

Winter will be cooler and summer will be hotter. Average temperature of

earth is continuously increasing. Environment and climate specialists

have estimated the average temperature of earth will rise by 2 to 4 degree

Celsius during coming 50 years. Due to unexpected rise of earth

temperature millions ton ice deposited on Antarctica during past

thousands years will melt, which will raise sea level by 1 to 4 meters.

The cities and countries situated in sea or at coast will drown which

elevation from sea level is less than 2-3 meters. Probable drowning cities

due to global warming will be –Tokyo, Songhai, New York, Sydney,

Melbourne, Calcutta, Chennai, Bombay, Maldives, Lakshadweep,

Singapore and Hong Kong. The danger has already been realized and

visualized by people of Maldives. They have taken cognizance of future

hazard and preparing themselves to fight and face it. Maldives is

archipelago of 1200 islands. The maximum elevation of islands from sea

level is 2.2 meters some islands are on less than one meter elevation from

sea level. These islands will be soft targets of global warming. Maldives

government has taken cognizance of the coming hazard by calling global

summit in October 2009 to visualize potentiality of impending danger

and arouse consciousness towards global warming among people.

36island archipelago Lakshadweep- a province of Indian union territory

– is likely to have same fate like Maldives. The geographical condition

of Lakshadweep is almost same as Maldives. Calcutta and Mumbai will

also be soft target of global due to environmental pollution. Cali form

bacteria in Indian River water (Ganga, Yamuna special) has increased 20

to 40 times of standard and norms set. The standard level of the bacteria

is 500 per liter where as it is found more than 2000 in most of river

water. Coli form level of Ganga water near Banaras is alarming and

dangerous. In between Kanpur and Banaras it is more than 40000 per

liter. These bacteria‟s are carriers and cause of many diseases in human

body. British rulers in India had decided to connect gutter and ravine of

cities situated on bank of river to it for discharge of slag, wastes and dirt

of the city. They were of opinion that city will remain clean and all the

industrial and chemical wastes will go to ocean through river. Since then

all the rivers are being used as gutter and ravine for industrial scrapes

and chemical wastes by banking cities, probably, they had thought that

without any harm waste will go to ocean and cities would remain clean.

They did not visualize that the waste and slag‟s will spread in form of

nano-particles in catchment area of rivers and through food and edible

plants it will generate different incurable disease in human body. The

river Yamuna is used as public toilet by people of Delhi. Chemical and

industrial wastes are going to ocean through river and jeopardizing

aquatic biological units of ocean.

Massive and uncontrolled destruction of forests was done to

fulfill requirements of growing excess population and establishment of

new industries. Plants and trees are assimilating carbon gases emitted

during industrial, chemical and organic process on earth and converting

it into pure oxygen and carbohydrate, protein for nourishment of human

race through photo synthesis. Content of carbon dioxide in atmosphere is

controlled and regulated by plants and trees. The photosynthesis cyclic

process is slowed down due to massive and haphazard destruction of

forests, plant and trees. The CO2 level is increased to dangerous level

due to massive destruction of carbon recycling network. Discharge of

harmful and poisonous wastes by industries into rivers and use of

insecticide and pesticides used by farmers in catchment area of rivers to

increase food output, are carried to oceans with flow of river and

generating hazard to aquatic biological unit of ocean. Coral and other

aquatic biological creatures are playing vital role in assimilation carbon

gas content on earth and water. Due to poisonous wastes brought to

oceans by rivers, it is being severely polluted and started count down for

decay of coral and organic species. Coral and other similar aquatic

organic species responsible for environment balance are finishing and

some others are on way to extinction. Due to extinction of aquatic

biological units of ocean there is serious setback to carbon processing

cycles and carbon ppm in atmosphere is dangerously increasing.

International environment pollution and climate control panel

has ascertained standard of CO2 PPM in atmosphere 250 i.e. 250 part per

million. Presence of 250 (maximum) Co2 particles in 10 lakh particle of

air is permissible and tolerable. 250 to 350 ppm level is alarming and 350

to 450 levels are dangerous and critical. Above 450 is warrant for

extinction of human-race from the earth. Energy and environment

specialist of Thailand chirapal santunava has expressed that if emission

of co2 to atmosphere is not further controlled within coming 12 years

massive destructive changes will appear and during less than 12 years

much ice will melt on earth. As soon as carbon PPM of atmosphere will

reach 450 levels massive destructive effect on earth will start. Now

(11.05.13) carbon PPM of earth atmosphere is 400 (against 392 on

10.10.2010). This has been supported and confirmed by NASA scientist

James Henson and some others. Alexander Forlorn, director of

meteorological centre of Russia has claimed that by 2050 trace of ice will

disappear from arctic region if mature and momentum of environment

polluting activity of human race is not controlled. Prof Frank Fener,

Professor of Microbiology in Australian national university has disclosed

that human race is unable to tolerate effect of cruel and selfish

exploitation of natural resources and population explosion and it will

extinct and disappear from the earth within coming 100 years. He further

claims that according to him it is too late to rectify omission and

mistakes done by human race in past to environment and it can‟t be

changed. He says that change in climate is warming signal for decay of

human race from race and it is also responsible for countdown of

extinction from earth. Change of climate a mere start, significant changes

in seasons are also seen. Many species on earth disappeared from earth

due to wrong path and anti-nature life styles adopted by them in past.

Human race has adopted same path.

The so called developed and civilized countries on the Earth are

more responsible for bringing earth and environment to such hazardous

and pitiable condition and to start countdown for extinction of human-

race. Contribution of undeveloped and developing nations in doing sins,

omissions and crime in polluting environment is insignificant and it can‟t

be accounted. International Board of Environment pollution has

ascertained standard for emission of Co2 into atmosphere. This standard

is 3 Ton per year per man. Any country can emit Co2 to atmosphere at

the rate of 3 ton per man per year. It is maximum safe value of emission.

But this standard has been completely ignored by „developed and

civilized‟ nations. The carbon emission rate of different developed and

developing nations are given here.

Per man per year. This detailed data clearly indicates that

developed countries have major role in pollution of environment. The

countries, which have damaged environment much, are on the top of

civilized and developed country list. The countries that have least

polluted environment are considered as underdeveloped or backward.

The main object of composition of the book is to arouse sleeping

consciousness of human race, to visualize duty towards earth and

environment and to make human race vigil for impending peril. We have

inherited clean and balance environment from our ancestors. It is our

duty to hand it over to our coming generation without any pollution.

Otherwise, we will be considered dishonest by them and they will say

that their predecessor spoiled it for leading comfortable and luxurious

life and handed over hell like earth to them. Detailed facts and data have

been taken from articles published time to time, by meteorologists,

climate experts and environment specialists. Proper care has been taken

in collection of data. Despite all these if there is any omission and

mistake regarding data and details, correction is solicited. In course of

furnishing facts and details proper attention has been given for

sentiments and emotions of different regions and social groups. If

unknowingly sentiment of any religion, caste or region is hurt, I

POLLUTED GANGAJAL

CAUSE OF CANCER

Ganges River and its tributaries are means of social, cultural and

economic life for thousand million people of India, Nepal and

Bangladesh. Especially for Hindus „Gangajal‟ is symbol of sanitation and

standard of water parity. It is considered as means of physical and

metaphysical life purification. For non- Hindus it is base of economic

life. Farming and cultivation is done on soil brought by Ganga and its

tributaries. It is means of livelihood, trades and transportation are carried

out through these rivers and plants or trees available in gangatic plain are

used as herbs and medicine.

But the Ganges water has now become cause of fatal disease like

cancer due to industrial slag discharged by industries established on the

bank of Ganga to fulfill demand of haphazardly increasing population.

The effect of Ganga pollution on human life is visible now. The effect is

appearing as different type of cancer. Scientists have now proved that

numbers of gall bladder cancer patients in Gangatic plain are more than

the other regions. The cause of this cancer s heavy metal nano particles

found in Ganges water. An international organization (International

Hepeto villary Association) has revealed this fact after conduction

research on 22 thousand people of 60 villages of Gangatic plain. The

association has disclosed that 25 people out of one lakh in Gagatic plain

are patient of gall bladder cancer where as only 5 in Bangalore and 12 in

Delhi out of one lakh are suffering from this disease . In order to know

the cause of cancer scientist has sent hair and tissue samples of such

patients to „Apchicentre Nigoya‟ in Japan. After examination of samples

the centre has disclosed that cadmium, mercury and lead nano particles

have been found in the sample which is responsible for bladder cancer.
