To come to school at university of buffalo, I had to take an exam in istanbul turkey

the name of this exam is called The TOEFL iBT test measures your ability to useand understand English

at the university level.

And it evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks.Language difficulties impact not only information-gathering skills but also help-seeking behaviors. Lack of proficiency in English can be a major concern for international students in their library use as it relates to asking for and receiving assistance

By taking this test i feel i have come prepaid to communicate, write,and speakenglish.

when i first got off the airplane in america i tryed to communicate with other passengers

but no one could understand my broken english. i reolized at that momment the exam i had taken didnt prepair me enough

to communicate with people. The exam must do more to help prepair people who speak differnt languages to communicate

better in my opionion.

I believe that people are molded by experience and adapt to the environment they were placed in and most people

are afraid to talk with me because of my accent they auotmatically think i am some guy from another county who doesnt know anything

sometimes i feel like being an international student is a hardship it is alot tougher to make friends, and giving an answer when someone askes me a question

for example " where is this place?, how can i go there?" it is difficult to communicate. that is if they choose to communicate with me some people judge me

because i am from another country.

another problem i have come across is not being able to understand examsand mid term paper for example last dynamic

exam i mistaked the word rope for the word ramp and calculated the whole question wronge. because of this mistake i took a low grade

i make many mistakes i all my classes so i have to try harder not to make these

mistakes and get a good grade.

I have had many other experiences in my life with people that didnt talk the sameway as I do.

Each encounter has brought me the knowledge of another person in this world thatis very interesting

and has a lot to offer.

in my opioion we can solve this problem by allowing interpriter to come with international students to class to exsplain the words

and allowed to attend exams. they can help us on what we need to study and how we need to study. because they know better than us.

secondly; we do not have any class where we can just talk english and make conversation. it must change in other countrys in classteachers and students need to speak english not there own languge.

to my conclusion i feel like i have solved many of my problems by having many friends who are from america who speak english and understand me

everyday i learn more words and sentences because they respect me and are patiant with me, which help me learn and understand better.
