Swallow & RoseThe origin of my online store came from my time working in NYC, I fell in love with the patriotism the city has, & wanted to recreate it. I started the collection in my Final Major Project at Uni. In the module I created the brand ‘Swallow & Rose’ & designed everything from the collection of hand drawn illustration unisex shirts, which are based on British idioms, to shooting & styling the lookbook for the S/S12 collection. After leaving university I expanded the business to selling the products online & at local craft fairs. I also added my illustrations to mugs, hipflasks, shorts & jewellery, all of which I printed at home using a dye-sub printing technique.

Garment Collection DesignDuring my time studying Fashion Product & Promotion, I studied this module. For this project I created a 16 piece collection for the store Urban Outfitters for their A/W 11 season. The collection has inital mood boards for colour ways, 8 developments for each garment, final flats for the items & creative illustrations to show the final styling for the collection.

Surface Pattern DesignI created this mini collection of nightwear/lingerie after I had graduated; I was extremely inspired by the Jane Austen & Marie Antoinette films I was currently watching. I wanted to create garments with all the romance of the 1800s but for a modern woman, for A/W 12.

Surface Pattern DesignThis module was part of a live brief with George ASDA in which there was four categories of shirts to design for; photographic, vintage, coded & all over, print for men of all ages. The theme was established in my initial mood board, I created the prints with a mixture of photo manipulation & hand drawn imagery.

Surface Pattern & IllustrationThis project was inspired by my nautical photography I have taken over the years. I used them to create the colour way for the vintage scarves collection. The scarves were dye-sub printed, with my loose hand drawn illustrations on them.

First Hand CollectionIn this module I created a collection based on mood boards created out of my own photographs taken in Coney Island, & from print screens from 1940/50s films based there. The aim of the pro-ject was to be done totally without computer aid. The collection mixes prints collected from the fairground rides & fonts with soft hues & a punch of bright yellow.

Advance Surface Pattern & Printed TextileThis project was a live brief from Tommy Hilfiger, to design prints for women’s apparel. The range I created for was the ‘Lala’ tee, the prints were inspired by a fairy tale romance with a strong American teenager feel through it. In the mood boards I concentrated more on mixing my hand-writing with teenage love imagery. For the shirt prints I edited my own NYC photographs with my own handwriting to get the desired effect.

Advance Fashion Promotion & BrandingIn this module Swallow & Rose made its first appearance but as a similar store to Urban Outfitters. I created everything for the store’s look from the hangers to the website. I sourced garment simi-lar to the ones I expected the store to sell, & styled & shot them for the stores A/W 10 Lookbook. I also created a collection for the A/W 10 Season, with final illustrations.

Styling & PhotographyIn this module I created an imitation of Harpers Bazaar magazine shoots. In this project I was strongly influenced by photographers like Sam Shaw & Cecil Beaton. My styling influence was taken from 1950s swimwear, & the hair & make-up a strong Hollywood glamour feel to it. I sourced & styled the shoot, took care of the hair & make-up, set up the studio lighting, shot & did the post production work also.

Garment Collection DesignThis is the highlights of a collection I created based on the 1920s era. I feel it would slip into Urban Outiffters shop floor very easily.
