On September 5, 2013, at 1 PM the Sam Houston Chapter of NARPI had its quarterly meeting at Spring Creek Bar-B-Que in Spring, Texas. Members attending were Rich LaBoda, Mike Castillo, Bill Gillespie, Bob Murphy, Dick Carlson, Anne Breda, Harry, Breda, Vic Geerts, Art Gibbs, Bruce Beckham, and special guest Houston Division AIC Tripp Brinkley. The meeting was called to order by Chapter president Dick Carlson. Treasurer Harry Breda gave a treasurer's report and Secretary Bruce Beckham summarized the last meetings minutes. New and updated information concerning obtaining and maintaining firearms qualification to carry a firearm under FLEOSA was discussed. There was interest expressed by several members to obtain qualifications under the law. It was decided to have the Christmas party at the same location as last year which is Outback Steakhouse. AIC Tripp Brinkley provided a summary of the USPS and USPIS current status. Brinkley revealed the Atlanta Division has been disbanded and as a part of that the Houston Division has assumed responsibility for the states of Alabama and Mississippi. Vic Geerts was congratulated for becoming president elect of NARPI National. Art Gibbs and Bruce Beckham were the lucky winners of the door prizes. Richard Carlson President Sam Houston Chapter
