Genesis 1, during the 6th day, along with the animals:

Genesis 2, focuses on who is man, how he was created,

• The LORD God sacrificed an animal in order to clothe Adam and Eve.

In Spite of Their Disobedience, God Continued His Relationship with Humans

So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up?"… (Genesis 4:5b-7a)

Jesus makes a historical recount of the flood in Matthew 24:37-39:

37For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,39and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.


Even though people were not aware of when the Flood would happen, they knew that it would take place:

– Through Noah’s construction of the Ark– Surely, through Noah’s words– Through God’s warning: Then the LORD said, "My

Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." (Genesis 6:3)


• When the Ark’s door was shut, there was space inside for many more people.

• All they had to do was repent and draw near to God.

• In the same manner today…“whoever will call on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

(Romans 10:13)


• The 8 Ark inhabitants went in through a door – there was only one door – that wasn’t closed by Noah, but by God himself.– …and the LORD closed it behind him. (Genesis 7:16b)

• Jesus said in John 10:9: I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved…

• Today Jesus is our Ark of Salvation.


By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household... (Hebrews 11:7a)


•Noah was saved through grace from the flood’s destruction through his faith in God…

•Through grace we can be saved, through our faith in the Lord Jesus, when we repent from our sins and draw closer to him.
