What’s the Difference?
• A power supply should supply direct current, so
you would test it with the VDC setting.• A fuse should be tested for continuity, so you
would test it using the ohm setting.• Wall current should be alternating, so you would
test it with the VAC setting.

“Prototyping is about people. Users are not often able to articulate what they want …and they cannot visualize it from written specifications.”
-Kenneth Lantz

Components of a Prototype
Simplified graphics, very different than what will be in
the finished version
Learner instructions as
they’ll appear in the final version
Screen represents
real-life situations
Functionality as it will
work in the finished version

• Using an example from the audience, we’ll create a prototype during the session.
Let’s Try It!

Prototype with the SME in the room.
![Page 16: Salt Rapid Prototyping 030310](https://reader034.fdocuments.in/reader034/viewer/2022051616/5549b8bab4c905fc7f8b4b8c/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Keep it simple, so you can throw it out when a better idea comes up.
![Page 17: Salt Rapid Prototyping 030310](https://reader034.fdocuments.in/reader034/viewer/2022051616/5549b8bab4c905fc7f8b4b8c/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Don’t worry about making it reusable. This is a “scratch paper” exercise .
![Page 18: Salt Rapid Prototyping 030310](https://reader034.fdocuments.in/reader034/viewer/2022051616/5549b8bab4c905fc7f8b4b8c/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Make it functional, so your SME can see how it works – or doesn’t
![Page 19: Salt Rapid Prototyping 030310](https://reader034.fdocuments.in/reader034/viewer/2022051616/5549b8bab4c905fc7f8b4b8c/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Use the tool you’re most comfortable with.
