Salmon Run RTH (est. 2014) serves 5 individuals who have a primary diagnosis of serious and persistent mental illness, and are under the jurisdiction of thePsychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB). Salmon Run is licensed by AMH, and staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week on a 2-2-2 staffing The Salmon Run interdisciplinaryteam includes anAdministrator, AssistantAdministrator, QualifiedMental Health Professional (QMHP), and Qualified Mental Health Associates.

Treatment includes a healthy mix of residential services and rehabilitative ‘outpatient’ services provided in the facility and in the community by staff, including but notlimited to:

Psychiatric treatment,

Individual and grouptherapy,

Medication management,

Skills training,

Peer support,

Supported Employment,and

Structured communityactivities.

Services and supervision are tailored to meet therequirements of eachresident’s conditional release plan, and to prepare them fortransition back into thecommunity as regular andproductive citizens. Along with PSRB, the Community Mental Health Provider will preform PSRB case management and other

Who is Served? Prospective residents may be stepping down from the State Hospital (or

another secure treatment environment), or stepping up from a less restrictive treatment environment due to a need for increased supervision, security and support. Each person must be deemed appropriate for this level of community-based care according to a stringent screening, referral, and admit process. Those who are residing at the State Hospital will be evaluated by the hospital’s psychiatrists and the treatment team; by the Psychiatric Security Review Board; by mental health professionals at the Community Mental Health Program; and by ColumbiaCare Services to ensure that each individual is ready to step-down into a secure residential treatment facility and that the placement will be safe for the community.

Community services,shopping, employment and education opportunities, and recreational activities can be accessed by publictransportation and many of these destinations arelocated close enough forresidents to walk or bike to.

Pendleton is located inEastern Oregon, which has warm weather in the summer and cool in the winter, the area boasts nearly 300 days of sunshine each year to takeadvantage of.
