PROCESS BUILDER INTERFACE

HOW TO CREATE A PROCESS ??

Page 8: Salesforce Lightning Process builder

STEP 1 – NAME YOUR PROCESS

Name the process , Enter the description and save.

Page 9: Salesforce Lightning Process builder

STEP 2 – SELECT OBJECT & CRITERIA

Select Object

Select and Add Object to associat process with an object and specify when

to start the process.

Advanced Option :

Recursion - If we select the Advanced option as Recursion this process

can evaluate the same record up to five times in a single transaction. It

might re-evaluate the record because a process, workflow rule, or flow

updated the record in the same transaction.

Select Criteria

The criteria is selected and defined and it must hold true before the process

executes the associated actions.

Advanced Option : Actions executed only when specified changes are

made to the record .

Page 10: Salesforce Lightning Process builder

STEP 3 – SELECT IMMEDIATE ACTIONS

These actions get executed when the criteria's are met .

Available immediate action types Include :

• Auto creation of a child record

whenever parent record gets created

• Multiple fields updated in one action.

Email easily sent from a process

using Send an email action.

Creation of a record , available for other

objects not just tasks !!

Call Apex - Enables to do many things

with power of Apex)

Creates Autolaunched flows to perform

logic and have events trigger the flows

via processes.

Helps submit approval of a record

,automatically based on criteria.

Allows to push a chatter update into a

group or feed

• Creates records, update records and

log calls directly in the feed.

• Invokes object-related or global action.

STEP 4 – SCHEDULED ACTIONS

We can add Scheduled actions to the

processes .

A schedule lets the process know how long it must

wait to execute the associated actions.

Action Type can be selected and defined for

scheduled actions in a similar way as Immediate

Actions .

Advanced Options : Action Execution when

specified changes are made to the record.

CONSIDERATIONS

Process Design :

• Use 18 Digit Id in Process Builder

while referencing to Record Types.

• Select appropriate value while

updating Lookup Fields.

• Design the process before hand to

manage the order of execution.

• Use Debug Log to troubleshoot

process builder errors.

• Create the process builder in

Sandbox to test and then deploy the

process in Production.

• Re-Order the Criteria nodes as per

your requirement.

Deploying Flows with Change Set

• Select "Flow Definition” in the Component drop down when

adding components.

• Manually add referenced

components to the change set

like.

• Activate the flow manually after

deployment.

Deploying Flows with Packages

• Understand the limitations and

behaviours of packages that contain

flows.

• To deploy the package successfully,

manually add referenced components

to the package.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR PROCESS DESIGN AND DELOYMENT

Page 13: Salesforce Lightning Process builder

Each process

is associated with

a single object.

Process name

must be 255

characters or

Fewer.

API name must

be 77 characters

or fewer.

Processes that

update owners

don’t also transfer associated items.

Order of the

criteria nodes

& Actions cannot

be changed.

Processes

should not be

set upto create

infinite loops,

to avoid hourly

limits

Email alerts

follow

Organization’s limits.
