FEED ADDITIVES

Feed additives are products used in animal nutrition for purposes of improving the

quality of feed and the quality of food from animal origin, or to improve the animals’

performance and health, e.g. providing enhanced digestibility of the feed materials.

Feed additives may not be put on the market unless authorisation has been given

following a scientific evaluation demonstrating that the additive has no harmful

effects, on human and animal health and on the environment.

LIQUIDS

Are mainly 1 liter bottled products to be mixed in drinking water. There are liquids

vitamins which help to prevent diseases, stress, infections and stimulate appetite

and growth. Other have rehydrating and energetic properties or help to prevent

diarrhea. Most can be used for all kinds of animals species and are critical to a

HAMECOZYME I

DESCRIPTION A complex and stabilized enzyme preparation for an improved feed utilization

and feeding efficiency. Beta- Glucanase and Xylanase will improve overall

digestibility of the feed and increase nutrient availability and digestibility.

Proper application of enzymes increases the flexibility in feed formulation in

HAMECOTOX

DESCRIPTION The growth of moulds in raw materials and finished feed for livestock is an universal problem. Mould spores, the so called fungi, can contaminate cereal grains in the standing crop and during storage can grow at moisture contents above 11% which leads to a build-up of mycotoxins. - The most common of these fungi is the genus Aspergillus and the toxins produced by moulds of this genus are known as Aflatoxins. - The most damaging and commonly mycotoxins are the Aflatoxins and there are several major types; Aflatoxin M1, B1, B2, D1, G1 and G2. The most important species is Aspergillus flavus. - Mycotoxins are extremely toxic by-products of fungal metabolism and range from large complex molecular structures to simple three carbon derivatives. -Mycotoxins are toxic at levels even below 20 ug/kg (parts per billion) and no level of mycotoxin in feed can be considered safe. - Mycotoxin ingestion by animals can lead from a simple growth depression to fertility problems, immune disorders, liver damage and death. - Poor storage and transport conditions will often lead to contamination of Aflatoxins.

BENEFITS - Hamecotox is a complexed hydrated aluminium silicate that has been developed to bind chemically with the molecular structure of Aflatoxins in an irreversible manner. - Traps Aflatoxins as a result of electrostatic attraction to aluminium ions and protects the animal by rendering the Aflatoxin inactive throughout the digestion process. - Effective in trapping mycotoxins in animal feeds.

HAMECOTOX PLUS

DESCRIPTION Feed quality accounts for the larger part of a successful intensive animal rearing operation. Raw materials and compound feeds require special care in order not to make them a source of mechanisms (poisonous substances, interference with digestibility, oxydation and free radicals) that affect feeding efficiency and animal production response. Such mechanisms can cause severe economic losses to the producer. Carefully selected and proportioned feeding materials and additives help to ensure making quality feedstuffs available to the animals even under the most severe conditions.

BENEFITS This newly developed clay mineral mixture is based on spent research whereby several such clay minerals have been tested for their spectrum of activity (binding capacity) of different major mycotoxins in addition to aflatoxin which the most common mycotoxin against which clay minerals are known to be the most effective. The result of that research and comparison against the current HAMECOTOX is shown in the below diagrams. Clearly the last graphs shows that the cocktail of clay minerals has an almost maximum % (see the spider web 0% to 100%) activity against all the in this test included mycotoxins and at different pH. Single bentonite shows a much lower % activity against Zearalenone, T2, ochratoxins at both pH 3 and 6,5. Reduced efficacy against Fumonisins at pH 3. In conclusion at different pH the cocktail is much more effective than single bentonite.

DESCRIPTION Hameco-2-Plus contains many active ingredients which play a role at controlling the mycotoxins problems. Yeast fermentation extract contains mannan oligosaccharide (type of carbohydrate) and the yeast extract make structural changes of the mycotoxin molecule to obtaining non toxic and harmless metabolites, then eliminated through the faeces. HAMECOSAL DRY

DESCRIPTION The presence of micro-organisms in animal feedstuffs in particular and in the production environment in general are a major concern for feed and animal producers, for the consumer and for health authorities. The universal presence of Salmonella and its serious health and economic risk call for thorough hygiene management throughout the entire process from feeding to meat processing until consumption. Salmonella contamination of feed and feed raw materials can be a major potential problem for livestock producers. Grains and oil seeds have lower (1 - 3%) incidence of Salmonella contamination than ingredients obtained from animal by products (5 - 85%). Non-pullorum Salmonella serotypes, such as Typhimurium, Enteritidis and Heidelberg, are the causative bacterial agents in most cases reported for poisoning. By treating raw materials and compound feed with Hamecosal Dry the infection cycle can be broken. For example contaminated feed and water ingested by a bird enters the crop where there is a high moisture content and a sufficiently low pH to eliminate a high percentage of potential pathogens. The presence of Hamecosal Dry in the crop can effectively minimise the risk of salmonella infection from this source.

HAMECOSAL LIQUID

DESCRIPTION Salmonella bacteria constitute a considerable threat to the health of human beings and animals. It is estimated that 30% to 40% of the poultry are infected by salmonella bacteria, some of which are more pathogenic than others. Often these animals are clinically healthy carriers, so that there is a constant danger of infection within the food chain. There are many factors which can cause the infection of food with salmonella bacteria; not only is the microbiological quality of the feed important, but also, for example hygiene during slaughtering, and during the preparation of the food by the consumer. One possible way to break through the "salmonella cycle" is to produce salmonella-free feed. In particular feed in which ingredients of animal origin are used, are often found to be infected with salmonella. Hamecosal Liquid is an effective salmonella killer for use in feed raw materials and finished feed. It kills other threatful enteric bacteria as Campylobacter and listeria species. To achieve the maximum effect, Hamecosal Liquid must be pressure-sprayed into the material to be treated. It is essential that the distribution should be even.

HADOX DRY

DESCRIPTION Autoxidation is a series of destructive chemical processes that occurs in organic materials. It is a complex process whereby the chemical nature of affected molecules changes. Especially animal lipids are extremely vulnerable to autoxidation. Vitamins for instance lose their metabolic potency due to autoxidation, pigments lose their pigmentation potential. In the process fats and oils yield unattractive odours and taste, they become rancid and unpalatable. Rancid fats and oils cause severe problems in intensive livestock and poultry production. Hadox is a well-balanced synergistic antioxidant combination for the protection of animal feedstuffs against autoxidation.

BENEFITS - Hadox Dry stabilizes any chemical or biological system susceptible to auto-oxidation. - Contains a strong synergetic mixture of registered ingredients. Metal ions, which start up auto-oxidation, are eliminated by chelation. - Emulsifiers ensure homogeneous distribution of the active ingredients. - Owing to the unique Hadox Dry coating process, the contact surface with the active antioxidant ingredients is maximized.

HAMECO ACID

DESCRIPTION The tolerance of different species to pH levels outside their optimum varies. In most cases enteropathogens have a low tolerance to low pH's whilst commensal microflora prefer a more acid environment. The inclusion of acids in the ration can reduce scours and increase proteolysis, leading to improved performance. Formic acid and propionic acid and their salts improve growth rate and feed efficiency in intensive animal production as a result of promoting peptic activity. Hameco Acid is a carefully balanced blend of ammonium formate, formic acid and propionic acid which ensures that the feed pH does not fall to a level that will reduce intakes nor does it create a 'nose' rendering the feed unpalatable. Ammonium formate rapidly dissociates in the digestive tract and is compatible with copper when used as growth promoter. Formic acid has a potent antimicrobial effect against all Gram negative species and therefore reduces the numbers of these organisms in feed, and, by virtue of the carrier, throughout the length of the gut. The pH lowering effect of Hameco Acid is particularly important in the stomach duodenum and jejunum where the digestion of proteins will be improved as a result of the conversion of pepsinogen (the pro enzyme op pepsin) to the active enzyme. This means improved nitrogen retention and improved growth. In feeds containing milk the acids help overcome the natural acid binding properties of milk products and assist in the coagulation of milk proteins prior to digestion.

HAMECO-PH LIQUID

DESCRIPTION A liquid, balanced mixture of acidulants and emulsifiers to compensate the physiological hydrochloric acid deficiency in the stomach of poultry. HAMECO-pH is developed to control in a natural way bacterial diarrhea in poultry. Improves significantly the microbiological quality of the drinking water. The important acidity in the stomach and the less marked acidity in the lower intestine are a necessary condition to reduce the multiplication of pathogenic enterobacteria, like E.coli and Salmonella. With Hameco-pH the buffer capacity of the feed/water intake is reduced, and thereby a higher enzymatic digestibility can be attained. It also influences the bacterial population in the upper part of the intestine. Here it promotes the development of useful bacteria like Lactobacilli.

Hamecomould Dry is a powerful mould inhibitor that effectively controls mould growth while it reduces losses due to heat or oxidation. DESCRIPTION VITAMIN E: Antioxidant, preventing or slowing down formation of free radicals and hyperperoxides from polyunsaturated fatty acids. This decrease in peroxide formation has a stabilizing effect on cell membranes containing polyunsaturated fatty acids. SELENIUM: Trace element, reducing tissue peroxides and stimulating immunity-response. Interaction with vitamin E is sometimes synergistic, sometimes partially substitutive.

DESCRIPTION Liva-Vit is a balanced combination of essential vitamins for poultry as well as for large animals. B-complex vitamins have a protective action on hepatic cells. This action contributes to the hepatoma protection by the lipotropic factors that are present in the formula (Choline an Methionine), thus enhancing their action in the prevention of liver fattening and its degeneration.
