“[Customer’s First Name], can I explain how I've been successful in the past, and how you can help
me give you a better experience for the life of our relationship?
Like you I have to manage my time to accommodate all my daily activities. And one thing that can take
time away from providing you a stellar service experience is having to prospect for new clients.
So whenever I speak with someone I like to ask for an introduction to other great guys/gals like
yourself.
Now I’m not looking for you to introduce me to somebody who is in the market for my products or
service. Because how would you know who's shopping around for [your product or service], right?
I’m simply looking to connect with other CXOs like you that have companies’ they’re responsible for.
Introductions like this help me keep a finger on the pulse of the industry and see where the market is
going and where I can help.
So what I do with a lot of my other partners is to take them out as a thank you. Maybe we'll do lunch or
a local event you've been interested in attending. If it's possible you invite some of your industry
colleagues to join us.
Or if they aren’t local or otherwise unable to join us then you and I go to your office beforehand and call
those people up so you can make a quick introduction.
You’d simply say something like ‘Hey Joe, I want to introduce you to [your name] who’s been a terrific
partner of mine. We've been doing business with him for a while now and I encourage you to two to
meet to see if he can help you like he’s helped me.’
[Customer First Name], is there any particular reason you wouldn’t feel comfortable doing this?
