Wednesday Dinner April 19th is crusted parmesan chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. Dessert as always. Sugar free dessert available by request at the window. 5:15-6:15pm. $12 max per family or singles at $2/age 2-11 and $4/over age 12. April 22nd is opening day for Caroline Little League!! Salem’s inflatables

will be there. Volunteers are needed to assist watching over the little ones

playing for 1 hour slots. Please sign up today!

Dorcas Daughters will be taking a trip to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens to visit the Butterfly Exhibit and Botanical Garden on April 22. Will be leaving Salem at 9 am. You will have lunch at the gardens. Cost is $11 for seniors plus bring money for lunch and gifts. Please RSVP to Mary Beth Green.

Rise Against Hunger! Salem’s spring food-packing event is coming Sunday, April 23! On the day of the event, early service food packers will come to the sanctuary at 9 a.m. (not 8:30 a.m.), and late service packers will come to the sanctuary at 11 a.m. Each group will move to the fellowship hall after a short time of worship and prayer, followed by instructions from the Rise Against Hunger representative. Friends and family are welcome! Just make sure everyone is signed up, and that all children are supervised. Questions? See Chuck Womble for more information.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Skeet Shoot at Salem Baptist Church April 29th, 11 am benefitting our youth program. The money raised will be going

directly to our youth to cover all mission expenses. You are welcome to bring your own ammo or it will be available for purchase at the event.

Please come out for a day of fun, food, and skeet! Event will be held rain or shine.

WMU Associational meeting April 25th, 6:15 pm at Bowling Green Baptist Church. Dinner is at 6:30 pm and the program begins at 7:15 pm. Would you be interested in taking the Dave Ramsey Course during the Sunday School hour and 11 am worship? This class will be 9 weeks long. Please sign up in the foyer or contact the church office! We will have the class if enough interest is shown. Eyes, Arms, Hands and Feet of Jesus requested to assist in Salem’s Two

Nurseries: Baby Nursery & Toddler Nursery are so important to our wee

ones, and to their parents. This gives these parents time to attend Worship

each week, without having to struggle with the children, or NOT even come

at all! Think about it!

Remember – it is ONLY 12 hours a year, if you sign up for once a month

coverage! Twelve hours – that’s it! BE A BLESSING – VOLUNTEER!

VBS is coming to Salem....July 10-14, 9am-noon each day. We are

looking for lots of teen and adult volunteers. Please contact Kristen

Beale or Shelly Beale if you would like to help in some way. Stay

If anyone has the DVDs “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” and “War Room” Please return it to the church office. Thanks! Trip to Rockville International Learning Center, sponsored by Hermon WMU, Monday May 1st. Leaving Salem at 10 a.m . We will be touring the facility and then have lunch, $10 for the trip and lunch is included. Make checks payable to Hermon Association WMU. Reserve your spot by April 17th. Contact Loretta Shelton or Linda Durrett to go! The International Learning Center is the housing facility while missionaries are being trained for their mission location. They learn language, culture and get medical preparation during their time there. A new group will arrive the first part and April and we may be able to see them when we visit.

KIDS’ CHOIR NEWS

The spring session will begin on April 20th.

Rehearsals are Thursdays, 4-5:30 p.m., with bus pickup

from BGES available by reservation. The kids’ choir will

lead worship on Graduate Sunday, May 21, at

10 a.m., and also in 1st service on Father’s Day, June

18th.
