Greetings Simmental Breeders!

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your family to the Kentucky Beef Expo Simmental Show and Sale. Kentucky is lucky to have the support of Agriculture pro-grams by new Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer, his staff, the Kentucky Depart-ment of Agriculture, and the Kentucky Farm Bureau. We feel very fortunate to be able to work with a group of people who support the beef cattle industry.

We, along with the Kentucky Simmental Association find it very important to make sure the Simmental breed is well represented at the Beef Expo. The Simmental Show and Sale is always one of the largest and most successful at this event. This would not be pos-sible without the outstanding set of genetics that are offered by Simmental breeders in Kentucky and the support of programs from surrounding states. One of the great things about the Beef Expo Simmental Sale is there is truly something for everyone. The offering includes opens; both purebred and percentage, breds, herdsires, and genetic lots. This is a great place to find exactly what you’ve been looking for!

Make sure you check out the schedule to see the many events that are offered at the Kentucky Beef Expo. You and your family can make it a weekend event with the sales, tradeshow, followed by the junior show on Sunday. All open females that sell in the sale are eligible to show on Sunday, so load up the family, come, buy, and show! Where else can you do all that in one weekend?

If you have any questions prior to the sale please contact myself or Drew Hatmaker. We will be happy to assist you in any way possible. If you cannot be with us, utilize www.edjecast.com to bid online. As always we look forward to seeing you at the Kentucky Beef Expo Simmental events.

DP Sales Management

P.S. This is the best offering ever at the Ky Beef Expo. A great opportunity to purchase your prospect for the Regionals and the AJSA National Classic in Lima, Ohio.

Embryo’s

• 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is done by an AETA certified embryologist.• A description on paper can’t describe the excitement behind Miss Awe. She has laid a path of purple ribbons and banners everywhere she has been. Miss Awe began her show career being named Division III Champion at the 2010 North American and never looked back. She was named Grand Champion Female at the Dixie National, won her division at the Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes, was named Grand Champion female at the KY State Fair, then on to win her division again at the 2011 North American, and most recently named Cow/Calf Champion at the National Western. She has earned her way to the top and we sure don’t see her stopping as she is just now entering her productive life. On top of the excitement behind her, we are going to throw JF Milestone in the mix. This mating is completely out crossed on both sides of the pedigree, its not very often that comes along. What an exciting time to be in the Simmental business and what a one of a kind opportunity here to put you right on the top of a rising super star of a cow! • Selling 3 Embryos Guaranteeing 1 Pregnancy if work is performed byan AETA certified embryologist.• The homozygous polled/homozygous black Emily is a consist producer of good females and bulls! She has worked well with many matings, always producing moderate, functional, black, polled cattle that are easy to sell. Mated to the extremely popular SS/PRS High Voltage, these embryos represent an opportunity to get in on a strong cow family on both sides. High Voltage, the 2011 champion at Kansas City, stems from the very hot Miley Cottontail cow and semen is very limited and valuable. This mating is a cant miss! • Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is done by an AETA certified embryologist.• The Kiss Me Not donor is truly a model of efficiency and a beast of a donor cow. Kiss Me Not has done a great job for Sunset View, HTP Simmental, and Sanders Ranch. Kiss Me Not has had several daughters that have sold well as much as $8,000 and a Built Right son is a junior herd sire at JRW. Kiss Me Not was selected out of the Head of the Class sale by Sloup and HTP. This superb SimAngus donor sired by the OCC Anchor will continue to excel with bulls in the industry today. Watch for more progeny from Sanders Ranch and others. The embryos offered at the Dixie are sired by the champion bull at the American Royal and the Hartman herd sire, High Voltage. With the package and complete phenotype of High Voltage plus the strength of Cottontail and Duracell this mating is sure to excel. Selling three embryos guaranteeing one pregnancy. She is big boned, long bodied, massive cow that passes these traits onto her calves. Her last five bull calves have averaged $4,060 in the Bulls of the Bluegrass sale. “Lady” has had four high selling heifers in the Bells of the Bluegrass going to Pine Ridge, Sunset View, Johnny Ingram and Greg Wyant for an average of $5,200. This mating with In Dew Time has worked well in the past. His calves are very consistent. I have kept a heifer out this same mating in our herd. Unforgettable is homozygous polled. • 67Y is a fall born SimAngus show prospect that has a great future and show career in front of her. She has been one of my favorites since birth and has also caught the attention of many visitors. Oh what fun this one will be! She is loaded with style, stands on a tremendous amount of bone and is very correct on her feet and legs, not to mention the pedigree this little female is packing. She has some of the very best genetics possible from both the Simmental and Angus breeds. Her maternal grand dam is one of the lead donors for Jeff Welsh at Welsh Simmentals that traces back to the Antoinette K205 cow family. 67Y will be a great youth project for some young showmen. • Here is an exciting opportunity to purchase a SimAngus show heifer that will compete on the national level anywhere in the country as well as being a tremendous donor prospect after her show career. I told Doug that I wanted to bring the best that I could and this one is really hard to let go. 45Y possess all the show ring style that one could ask for and has the pedigree to go with it. She is sired by STF Dominance, which does not need an introduction to anyone familiar with the Simmental breed. Her Angus dam is a Bando 1961 daughter that has produced many great females in her past. A maternal sister to 45Y sold in the 2010 Run For The Roses sale for $15,000. Also sold another Purebred Angus maternal sister to Circle M Farms of TX for $15,000 in the spring of 2010. Be sure to look this one up as she is definitely a stand out!• B&L Farm Cattle Company
