Salam All. As per this Salawat in Quran the Muslims have to say " Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin Sallu Alaihi Tasleema",but they say "Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin O Ala Aley, O Ala Azwaje O Ala Ashabe Mohammad Sallu Alaihi Tasleema"Somebody may kindly clarify as to who has invented this "Elongation"? QXP: 33:56 Verily, God and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet and support his Mission. O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Salute him and give yourself up to him and his Mission in complete submission. [4:65, 7:157, 33:43. ‘Support the Prophet’ includes supporting his Mission. 4:65, 7:157, 33:43, 49:2. For salutations to other Prophets, see Surah 37:79,109,120, 130, 181] I do not know who made the additions. It is possible that some Shi'a Imams added "aal" and some Sunni Imams added 'ashaab & azwaaj'. 'aal' or 'ahl' does not nece ssarily mean progeny. A prophet's 'aal' or 'ahl' is his followers. Great Question. Could Allah not have included the elongation in the Quran?

Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who believe! call for (Divine) blessings on him and

salute him with a (becoming) salutation.

Salam All. As per this Salawat in Quran the Muslims have to say " Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin

Sallu Alaihi Tasleema",but they say "Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin O Ala Aley, O Ala Azwaje O Ala

Ashabe Mohammad Sallu Alaihi Tasleema"Somebody may kindly clarify as to who has invented this

"Elongation"?

QXP:

33:56 Verily, God and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet and support his Mission. O You who

have chosen to be graced with belief! Salute him and give yourself up to him and his Mission in

complete submission.

[4:65, 7:157, 33:43. ‘Support the Prophet’ includes supporting his Mission. 4:65, 7:157, 33:43, 49:2. For

salutations to other Prophets, see Surah 37:79,109,120, 130, 181]

I do not know who made the additions. It is possible that some Shi'a Imams added "aal" and some Sunni

Imams added 'ashaab & azwaaj'. 'aal' or 'ahl' does not necessarily mean progeny. A prophet's 'aal' or

'ahl' is his followers.

Great Question. Could Allah not have included the elongation in the Quran?
