Salastina is a highly trained beautician living in Haverfordwest, who specialises in both hair and beauty. She has spent over 22 years receiving professional training, in Pakistan and all over the UK, to be able to provide treatments that help people enhance their natural beauty and unwind in a welcoming and friendly environment

HAIR REMOVAL THREADING A method of hair removal (usually lasting up to 2 – 3 weeks) It is a gentler, more accurate alternative to waxing and is suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin. The result is a smoother and younger-looking face, with neat and perfectly symmetrical eyebrows. This treatment can be paired with exfoliation beforehand to ease the ingrown hairs out for a clean and smooth finish.

APILUS ELECTROLYSIS A method of removing individual hairs from the face or body permanently by destroying the growth centre of the hair with chemical/heat energy. After a very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, the hair is removed with tweezers. This treatment can be used on most area such as the eyebrows, face, abdomen, thighs, breasts, and legs. Electrolysis has the unfortunate reputation for being painful, however, usually clients find that the pain is better than expected. SAUNAS

Overheating and Dehydration are always a concern and should be managed by the individual. You should remain well hydrated before, during and after and keep up your electrolytes. If you are feeling unwell at all during the session, leave the room immediately. Individuals who have had a Stroke, Aortic Stenosis, Heart Attack or have Lupus Erythematosus or Brain Tumours, should avoid using a

sauna. We would always recommend you check with your doctor before using an Infra-Red Sauna, and especially if you have a Pace Maker, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Implants or suffer from Severe Anxiety.

MICRODERMABRASION

Do not get microdermabrasion if you have extremely Sensitive Skin, Diabetes, Vascular Conditions like Rosacea, Skin Inflammation, Bacterial Infections, lack of Botox within 72 hours. Also, Sunburn, Viral Infections like Herpes Simplex, Acne and if you are takin Tactile Sensation, Keloid Scarring, Cuts and Abrasions, or have had g Anti-Coagulant Drugs.

CACI TREATMENTS

Pacemaker – Micro-current could disturb heart rate. Pregnancy – Contra-indicated in first trimester. All forms of Cancer - Please provide us with a GP note for 5 years clear or in remission. Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy - Completely contra-indicated. Epilepsy – Completely contra-indicated – micro-current may cause a seizure. Heart Conditions – Please provide us with a GP note stating it is safe to proceed with CACI with micro-current. Diabetes – Diet Controlled = fine to proceed providing tactile test completed by therapist – If Insulin Dependent please provide us with a GP note. Inflammation/Infections in local area – Completely contra-indicated. Tumours – Please provide us with a GP note stating it is safe to proceed with CACI micro-current. Varicose Veins – This area must be avoided by your therapist. Recent Operation/Scar Tissue – Please wait 3-6 months depending on severity of operation before commencing CACI. Allergy to Rubber/Metal/Silicone – Double probes are stainless steel. Body and facial pads are rubber based coated in silicone therefore treatment cannot be commenced. Thrombosis/Phlebitis – Completely contra-indicated – micro-current could disturb/cause blood

clotting. Retin A – If prescribed by GP wait 3-6 months after completion of Retin A course depending on the medication dosage. Roaccutane – Wait 12-18 months after completion of Roaccutane course depending on medication dosage. Metal Pins/Plates – Therapist must avoid working in this area. Prosthesis/Silicone Implants – Therapist must avoid working in this area. High Blood Pressure – Treatment can be commenced however results are variable due to muscle relaxants in the medication. You will need to sign a disclaimer. Skin Diseases – Locally contra-indicated due to risk of cross-contamination. Multiple Sclerosis – Facial & body muscles will not respond. Severe Muscular Conditions – Please provide us with a GP note stating it is safe to proceed with CACI micro-current. i.e. muscular dystrophy. Botox – Local area contra-indicated as the nerve response from muscle to the brain has been paralysed. Botox may also be dispersed if current is applied over it. Can work directly over area 3 months after Botox injection. Collagen/Fillers – Please wait 2 weeks before commencing CACI. Anti-Depressants – Results are variable due to muscle relaxants in the medication, a disclaimer is required. Prozac - Medication does not contain a muscle relaxant so face & body treatments can be performed. Under & Over Active Thyroid – Please provide us with a GP note stating it is safe to proceed with CACI.

For any other medication or medical condition not listed above, please bring a GP note stating it is safe to proceed with CACI micro-current/microdermabrasion.

BELLABACI CUPPING MASSAGE

Do not get a bellabaci cupping massage if you have any of the following conditions: Fever, pain or swelling in the body, infectious disease, broken bones or infectious skin conditions. If suffering from any of the following conditions, permission should be obtained in writing from your G.P before your hot stones massage: cardio-vascular conditions (thrombosis, phlebitis, hypertension, heart condition), any condition already being treated by a medical practitioner, oedema, severe psoriasis or eczema, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, cancer, nervous or psychotic conditions, heart problems, angina, those with pacemakers, epilepsy or diabetes.

Pre treatment: You should try to avoid doing anything that will irritate your skin immediately before treatment. This includes sunbathing (natural or artificial). Practitioners are unlikely to treat someone who has sun burn for example, as they would be more likely to suffer pain from the addition of heat to the already damaged skin; however an established tan would be fine. Some women find that their skin is more sensitive right before and during their menstrual cycle so if you are a woman, you might want to take this effect on pain threshold into consideration when scheduling your treatment appointment(s).

After Care: Light application of soothing/moisturising lotions, creams or gels to the treatment area. Cool, moisturising mists applied as you feel necessary. Cool water rinses or ice packs applied to the treatment area.

MASSAGE

Do not get a massage if you have any of the following conditions that cannot be treated at this time: Fever, pain or swelling in the body, infectious disease, broken bones or infectious skin conditions. GENERAL

Salastina Beauty reserves the right to refuse to carry out any treatment if there are any contra-indications or contra-actions to the treatment. A consultation will be carried out during initial appointments and a consultation form must be signed before any treatments are commenced. Salastina House of Beauty doesn't do Chiropody/Podiatry or Medical hand and nail treatments of any

kind. The therapies and treatments are cosmetic and are solely to improve the appearance and feel of the hands, feet and nails. Any medical or Chiropody/Podiatry treatments must be sought from a medical professional.

For permanent and semi-permanent colour, perming products, relaxer products, eyelash tints, kits etc, ear piercing kits and gel nails, you must be 16 years and over.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to treatment if it is your first appointment at the salon. We require this time for you to complete a personal consultation card, which is 100% confidential and is used for treatment purposes only.

CANCELLATIONS

Please note 24 hours’ notice is required for all cancellations, otherwise 50% of the total treatment price over £30 will be charged, if we are unable to re-sell the reserved treatment time. Cancellations should be made by calling us on 01437 454224 / 07907 284258.

PURCHASE OF RETAIL PRODUCTS

Beauty products must be paid for in full at the time of purchase or ordering.

PREPAID COURSES OF TREATMENTS

Valid for 12 months from date of purchase, unless otherwise stated.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift Cards can be of any value. Gift Vouchers are non-refundable and are valid for 12 months from the purchase date and will not be accepted after the expiry date. Vouchers may be used for services only, Tuesday to Saturday. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash, sold or transferred. Your gift voucher number must be quoted at the time of booking and the voucher handed to the therapist at the start of your treatment. You are not under any obligation to use the full value of your voucher during one session. Late cancellation and "failure to show" terms, as laid out above, also apply to gift vouchers.

Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed against Non-Surgical treatments.

SMOKING

Please note that it is illegal to smoke anywhere in the Salon.

DATA SECURITY

Personal details taken from clients during consultation procedures will be kept safe and in the strictest confidence. We would, on occasion, like to send you details of open evenings and special promotions. If you would rather not receive these, please let us know.

CHILDREN (HEALTH & SAFETY)

Although we love little ones, our busy salon is not a safe environment for small children. Also, our Insurance does not cover persons at the salon who are not there for treatment. Please understand

that we can cannot accommodate children under 12 years of age, unless closely supervised by an adult during your treatment and with the prior consent of the owners. If it is possible to organise childcare, we strongly recommend that you do so.

HYGIENE Salon Hygiene is, of course, the utmost importance and to achieve optimal cleanliness, all our sterilisation equipment is approved by the local Environmental Health Officer. We only use new sterilised disposable needles for each client.

Please do not take food or drink into the treatment rooms, unless with the consent of the owner.

PAYMENT

Most credit and debit Cards are accepted, American Express, cash or cheques. All prices include value added tax at the current rate.

PATCH TESTING

Patch testing is required for clients who have never had eyebrow/eyelash tinting and spray tan, within 6 months of any previous treatment. A patch test can be carried out 48 hours before tint.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Please ensure you retrieve all your personal items before leaving the premises as we cannot be held responsible for any loss.

SPECIAL OFFERS

TREATMENTS

It is vital to keep nail/eyelash infill appointments, in order to maintain enhancements and to avoid damage to the natural nails and eyelashes. Every 2 to 3 weeks, it is recommended for infill/maintenance appointments. See price list for costs.

Nail or eyelash enhancements should never be removed by the client, as this can result in damage to the natural nail, nail plate or eyelashes. Professional and safe removal of products are offered at a low cost. Please see price list for cost.

CAR PARKING

There are 2-hour parking bays to the front of the salon. Reservations for Salastina House of Beauty clients cannot be made and parking is the responsibility of the client.

IF THINGS GO WRONG

If you get a reaction to any products used, apply a cold compress, inform us straight away and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. Please do not ignore symptoms, as any enhancement may need to be removed.

Whilst all possible care is taken to give our best salon-quality nails, sometimes a customer may report a failure, through no fault of their own. Call us if this happens. Subject to discussion and survey of the broken nail and at our discretion, we may offer a repair.

Do not remove the rest of the nails if you intend to keep them.

The repair is limited to the broken nail only. We are fully insured and we do not offer cash refunds on any treatments.
