ThissalarysurveycoverseachpositionthattheSales&Marketingteamrecruitsfor.Theinformationpresentedinthisdocumentisbasedonourongoingsurveysofcandidatesandclients,whichincludemultinationalcorporationsaswellassmall-to-mediumenterprises(SME)throughoutthecountry.IntheEuropeanUnionandSwitzerland,wedefineanSMEashavinglessthan250employees.FurtherqualitativeinformationhasbeensuppliedbyconsultantsinourofficesinSwitzerland.

Ourresearchwascarriedoutbymeansofaquestionnairesentoutbymailand/ortelephoneinterview.Respondentswereaskedtogivetheminimum,maximumandaveragesalariesforeachqualificationlevel.Theinformationobtainedwassupplementedbyothermarketinformation,includingsalarydatafromourowninternaldatabase.Inaddition,asurveyofatleast20candidateswasconductedforeachposition.

Onecaveatconcerningthissalaryguide:multiplefactorsdictatetheactualsalarypaid.Theseincludeelementssuchascompanysize,businesssector,thenatureoftheposition,thenumberofyearsinthecompany,meritpayments,staffresponsibilityandgeographicallocation.Additionally,duetostatisticallimitationsofthissurvey,certainsalariesmayfalloutsidethedesignatedrange.

InSwitzerland,mostsalariesarecomprisedofbothfixedandvariableelements.Inthissurvey,allsalariesexcludethevariableelementcommonlyreferredtoasabonus.However,wehaveobservedausualbonus,ontopofthebasesalary,rangingfromapproximately10%to50%,dependingonthecompany.Additionally,dependingontheleveloftheposition,andparticularlyinthecaseofmanagerialpositions,otherbonusescanbeconsideredandarenegotiatedforthecontractsignature.Theseincludehealthinsurancecosts,accommodationfees,companycar,mobilephone,stockoptionsandrelocationexpenses.Thesebonusestakentogethercanconstituteasignificantpackage.
