Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, There will be no confession at SSPJ this Monday evening December 14th due to local Parish Penance Services. Our Parish Penance Service is Monday, December 21 @ 7 PM. We will again have 25 priests to have the Sacrament conveniently available to all.
Parish Penance Services for the area PLEASE NOTE: Please be advised that we will have expanded use of tickets for the Holy Masses of Christmas. Because of uncertain quotas of allowed attendance, this seems to be a safe way of not having to turn people away. However, I presume attendance will still be optional due to Covid concerns. We will, in accord with the recent permission given by the Archbishop, have an additional Christmas Vigil Mass at 2:30 PM. Another change is our 10 PM Mass is changed to 9 PM. Tickets for all Masses of Christmas at SSPJ will be distributed after all Sunday Masses during Advent: two per person after the Masses of December 8th and the remaining Sundays of Advent. PLEASE NOTE: Tickets will not be given out in any other setting at any other times. Please do not stop at or call the Rectory, our limited staff cannot be involved with ticket distribution. See below for the revised Christmas Mass Schedule which will also be mailed to your home with the envelope for the Christmas collection. Your continued wonderful generosity to our parish and its good works is a great blessing to many.

means "little baby [boy]." Bambinelli Sun-day is celebrated on Gaudete Sunday, the third Sunday of Advent. People bring to church their Baby Jesus figurines from their creches and nativity scenes from home, and they receive a special blessing by the priest at the end of Mass.

Positions Needed – Saints Philip and James School Middle School Science – Math Teacher (full time) SS. Philip and James Catholic School is accepting applications for a Middle School Science & Math teacher to start in January 2021. Interested and qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in science and/or math and have state certification. The teacher is responsible to teach Grades 6 -8 science and Grades 7-8 math and coordinate the STREAM program. Technology Teacher/Coordinator (Part-time) SS. Philip and James Catholic School is accepting applications for a Technology Teacher to start in January 2021. Interested and qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and have experience with technology hardware and software. The candidate would be teaching classes in pre-K 3 through grade 8 following the Archdiocesan Technology Guidelines and manage the school’s hardware and software. SSPJ School Middle School ELA Position Needed SSPJ is seeking a Middle School English 7 & 8, Math 6, and Religion 7 substitute for a maternity leave beginning in mid-January.
