In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

TERZA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO 24 DI GENNAIO, 2016

“Rolling up the scroll he gave it to the assistant and sat down. All in the synagogue had their eyes fixed on him. Then he began by saying to them, ‘Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.’” Jesus returns to his hometown, a person of great fame and reputation, surely many went to welcome and receive Him. The prophet Isaiah summarizes His mission to bring glad tidings to the poor, seek freedom for captives, restore sight, and

proclaim a year of favor from the Lord. We have just begun a jubilee year, a Year of Mercy. Pope Francis has taught us that mercy is God’s greatest gift. We are told that ‘Jesus Christ is the face of God’s mercy.’ Mercy has become living and visible in Jesus of Nazareth. In designating this year for this purpose, Pope Francis is calling people to the path of conversion. As missionary disciples we have the opportunity to invite others to have hope, a fundamental theme of the Holy Father. At a time when refugees and asylums are found on every continent, we are able to assist them. Those blinded by sin and selfishness can open their eyes, when they see true disciples living a vibrant faith. Like the people of Nazareth we refocus and place our eyes on Jesus. He speaks to us of Himself and our role in His mission.

“Jesús cerró el Libro, lo devolvió al ayudante y se sentó. Todos en la sinagoga tenían los ojos fijos en él. Entonces comenzó a decirles: ‘Hoy se ha cumplido este pasaje de la Escritura que acaban de oír’.” Jesús regresa a su terruño, como persona de gran fama y reputación; seguramente muchos fueron a darle la bienvenida y a recibirlo. El profeta Isaías sumariza Su misión así: a llevar la Buena Noticia a los pobres, a anunciar la liberación a los cautivos y la vista a los ciegos, a dar la libertad a los oprimidos y proclamar un año de gracia del Señor. Acabamos de comenzar el Año de Jubileo de la Misericordia. El Papa Francisco nos ha enseñado que la Misericordia el don más importante de Dios. Se nos dice que ‘Jesucristo es el rostro de la Misericordia de Dios’. La Misericordia se ha convertido en viva y visible en Jesús de Nazaret. Al designar este año para este propósito, el Papa Francisco está llamando a la gente al camino de la conversión. Como discípulos misioneros tenemos la oportunidad de invitar a otros a tener esperanza como tema fundamental del Santo Padre. En un tiempo en que refugiados y asilados se encuentran en cada continente, somos capaces de ayudarlos. Aquellos cegados por el pecado y egoísmo pueden abrir sus ojos cuando ven a verdaderos discípulos viviendo una fe vibrante. Como la gente de Nazaret, reenfoquemos y pongamos nuestros ojos en Jesús. El nos habla de Sí Mismo y nuestro papel es Su misión.

Non è venuta la mia ora, dice Gesù alla Madre che, a tutta prima, sembra essere stata importuna dicendo: “Non hanno più vino”. Cos’è l’“ora”? Per Giovanni è il momento cruciale, del Calvario anzitutto; la cruna dell’ago attraverso cui deve passare per essere rivoltata tutta quanta la storia, di tutti gli uomini e di tutti i tempi; ma l’ora è anche il tempo della missione pubblica che la prepara: quello è il tempo dei segni, dei miracoli!

Anche Gesù obbedisce ad un tempo che non è il suo, che il Padre gli ha assegnato, di cui egli non è più in un certo senso padrone perché, pur essendo Dio, ha lasciato la sua forma divina presso il Padre e non vuole disporne come uomo. L’umanissimo miracolo di Cana è un miracolo della fede di Maria. Come sarà per la cananea, come avverrà per il centurione, la fede di Maria ottiene dal Padre che Gesù anticipi l’ora. E si vede allora la forza della “donna” che apre qui al banchetto di Cana e chiude sotto la croce gli estremi dell’“ora”. La forza della fede brilla pure nella gioia del maestro di tavola mentre gusta il buon vino: la compagnia di Dio all’uomo è umanissima ed integrale. “Non di solo pane”, dirà Gesù, ma intanto fornisce ai commensali, che allietano gli sposi, dell’ottimo vino.

BAPTISM INFORMATION The Sacrament of Baptism

is Celebrated Once a month on Sunday

One Sunday in Spanish after the 12:30pm Mass and One Sunday in English at 2PM.

THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATES ARE: April 10th — English Baptisms April 17th — Spanish Baptisms

Please come to the Parish office at lease one month in advance before planning your child’s baptism.

MASS ATTENDANCE CARDS Our Religious Education program

requires that each student submits a Mass Attendance Card in the collection

basket when going to a Sunday Mass. It is especially important for those students who will be receiving a sacrament during the spring. A good mass attendance is required for a student to

receive a sacrament. Parents we ask that you please remind your child to do so as they can forget to

submit these cards at time of mass. Mass cards are always available on the tables near the entrances.

INFORMACION SOBRE LOS BAUTIZOS El Sacramento de Bautizo solo se celebrara una vez al mes

los domingos. Los Bautizos en Español se llevan acabo después

de la misa de 12:30pm y los bautizos en Ingles a las 2:00pm.

Por favor acérquese a la rectoría de la Parroquia por lo menos un mes en adelanto antes de planear el bautismo.

de la escuela francesa. Todos están invitados.

Copias del calendario de ministros para los meses de Enero y Febrero ya están

disponibles en la oficina de la rectoría. Si todavía no tiene una copia por favor de

pasar a recogerla. También se les recuerda a todos los servidores de llenar y regresar

la forma de registración que se les entrego el Domingo pasado lo mas pronto posible. Gracias!

TARJETAS DE ASISTENCIA

Nuestro programa de Educación Religiosa requiere que cada estudiante

que asista a una misa dominical entregue una Tarjeta de Asistencia de Misa en la canasta de la colecta. Especialmente para los estudiantes que van a recibir un sacramento durante la primavera.

Se requiere una buena asistencia de misas para poder recibir un sacramento. Padres, les pedimos que por favor les recuerden a su hijo de hacerlo, ya que ellos se les puede olvidar. Las tarjetas se

encuentran en las mesas de las entradas de la Iglesia. Gracias por su cooperación.
