WHAT WE HOLD IN OUR HEARTS “Would you be beautiful, truly so?

The way is not mystical or new. Drink something of beauty from

All that you see And it will live on in you.”

Frank H. Keith What we hold in mind and heart can never be lost. Character is formed by the people and experiences we take to heart and cherish therein. Show me your treasures, and I’ll tell you who you are. Repeatedly our dear Lord has assured us of our place in His own heart. In a sense, we’re already in heaven, because when Jesus ascended, He carried us there. Yet He remains with us here below. (Matt 28:20). His is the beauty that we drink from all that’s lovely in this world. What will become if we hold Him in our hearts always?

Please join us in celebrating Fr. Clancy’s 45th Year of Ordination and Fr. Wallace’s departure on Sun-day, June 9th following the 10:30am Mass. We will be holding our gathering downstairs in the Social Hall. Cake, donuts, coffee and punch will be served. FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH DEVOTION Please join us for the recitation of the Chaplet of Di-vine Mercy along with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament this Sunday, June 2nd at 3:00pm in the church. Come and celebrate the Lord’s Mercy!

St. Vincent de Paul Church Cleveland, Ohio

Dear Parish Family of St. Vincent de Paul, It is with great joy and ex-citement that I write to you to introduce myself as the newly appointed Pastor of both St. Vincent de Paul Par-ish and St. Patrick’s Parish. I am beyond thrilled to have been entrusted with this re-

sponsibility, and I look forward to getting to know you, to being with you, and to working along with you to continue building up the Kingdom of God. I know that there will be a learning curve as I undertake leading 2 Parish communities, and some adjust-ments in schedules and calendars may need to oc-cur as I get adjusted and acclimated to each parish’s schedule, but let me assure you that I will give the best I can to both parishes as we work together, building upon the great work done by those who have come before us and continue to build up the Kingdom of God in our corner of the Diocese. I ask for your patience and understanding as I work to learn and get to know each parish community. Just a little bit by way of introduction about myself. I have been a Priest for 12 years now, having been ordained, along with my 3 classmates, by Bishop Lennon on May 12th of 2007. My first assignment was as Parochial Vicar at St. Gabriel Parish in Con-cord Township. I then served as Parochial Vicar at St. Barnabas Parish in Northfield and, most recently, St. Albert the Great Parish in North Royalton. I am the oldest of 3 boys, my parents, John and Diane, live in Twinsburg, in the same house we’ve lived in since I was in 3rd grade. I enjoy music, having played the flute since I was in 5th grade and recently have been learning to play the guitar. I am an Eagle Scout, and currently serve as the Diocesan Chaplain for the Scouts of America BSA here in the Diocese of Cleveland. I enjoy hiking, camping, eating chicken wings, and watching sports, among many other things. I look forward to getting to know you, spending time with you, and becoming part of your family. Un-fortunately I do know that I will miss this year’s Par-ish Picnic as I already had a vacation planned before this assignment was presented to me. I hope to have another gathering or two at some point during the summer months for you to get to know me and me to get to know you more, and in future years I plan to enjoy the great fellowship of our Picnic. And please know that I am always open to sharing in fellowship and friendship with you. Since I have learned of my appointment, I have been praying for you daily and I

ask that you pray for me as we begin to journey this path together. In Christ, Fr. John Pfeifer EMPLOYMENT OPORTUNITY—BE A CENSUS TAKER Could you use a little extra income?
